
The Ignacio Pacheco Castro Educational Complex, which educates children and young people in different areas in El Salvador, has certified the first group of students in Bitcoin.
This educational complex is the first in the country to promote education about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as key instruments for the development of a new alternative financial model, based on the blockchain.
El Diploma in Bitcoin It was carried out in collaboration with the Guatemalan company Ibex and the organization “My First Bitcoin,” created in El Salvador to promote teaching and knowledge about the cryptocurrency industry, its benefits and its disruptive potential in the Salvadoran population.

According to local media, El SalvadorThe Bitcoin training was conducted over 10 weeks (2,5 months), during which time students were able to develop and deepen their knowledge of this cryptocurrency, the best known and most powerful in the world.
It is worth remembering that on September 7, 2021, El Salvador officially adopted Bitcoin as legal tender in the country. Since then, the government of Nayib Bukele has been receiving strong criticism. First for the obligation that the Bitcoin Law introduces to businesses and companies to accept payments in BTC and then for the risks involved in investing in cryptocurrencies.

Kevin Vásquez, 17 years old and a student at the Ignacio Pacheco Castro Educational Complex, said he was satisfied with the training he received on Bitcoin since April.
Vasquez commented to El Salvador He now understands Bitcoin better and wants to continue his learning in this industry. He also noted that the Diploma in Bitcoin was a unique experience.
For his part, the director of the educational complex, Asael Rodríguez, commented that the training initiative represents a very important step for students and for the country, by promoting financial inclusion through these digital assets.
Bitcoin education in El Salvador
While the Ignacio Pacheco Castro Educational Complex is the first institution in El Salvador to certify its students on Bitcoin, other education and training initiatives have been taking place in the country in recent months, with the aim of helping more Salvadorans learn about new technologies and understand their benefits.
In November, Education Minister Carla Hananía de Varela reported that the ministry would begin updating its educational programs to introduce topics related to Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, and blockchain technology.
Later in February, the Bukele government inaugurated “La Casa de Bitcoin” as a training space to learn about Bitcoin and cryptoassets. In March of this year, the Dominican company Harvest Trading Cap began offering training scholarships to young students interested in trading Bitcoin in the country.
In other Latin American countries, lawmakers have been pushing initiatives to encourage teaching and knowledge about Bitcoin, as is the case in Mexico. At the end of April, a group of Mexican senators, including Nuevo Leon state senator Indira Kempis, installed the First Bitcoin ATM in the Senate of the Republic, for educational purposes.
