As the cryptocurrency sector continues to grow and the metaverse gains popularity, more and more companies are beginning to recognize the different potential opportunities that this virtual space can offer their customers and businesses, including the cannabis industry.
One of the companies that is determined to join the metaverse in the near future is ACS Laboratory, the main hemp and cannabis testing facility in the eastern US. This company plans to enter the metaverse in Decentraland (MANA), as explained in the press release shared this Wednesday, September 28.

It is worth noting that ACS Laboratory will begin its journey in the metaverse by joining the “Automatic Slims Metaverse Marketplace” of the decentralized virtual reality platform promoted by the company Blockcity and which consists of four different floors composed of “dynamic experiences in which retail, education and entertainment merge.”
Visitors will be able to find ACS Laboratory on the first floor, which they can explore at their leisure by visiting the 3D laboratory or participating in ACS Laboratory's Cannabis Quest to learn about the industry by completing questionnaires and surprise contests to win virtual prizes that can be exchanged in the real world.
Similarly, on the second floor, visitors will be able to see the different cultivation, extraction and edible processing stations, complete questionnaires to get more points and also access NFTs from different cannabis brands. ACS Laboratory has explained that the most notable activities will include treasure hunts, podcasts by influential people, the transmission of live musical events, interactions with health and wellness companies and digital brand activations, among other interesting alternatives.

In fact, cannabis in the metaverse is nothing new, as earlier this summer rapper Snoop Dogg filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to cover aspects such as hemp cigarettes and virtual cannabis, among other similar products. Similarly, legal cannabis production is also an industry that has been embraced by the collaborative blockchain platform run by crypto project VeChain and Canadian software-as-a-service company Trutrace, while the others are clothing or food product companies.
