Business magazine Forbes recently announced that it has launched a permanent blockchain metaverse experience, The Sandbox, to offer new experiences to its users and readers.
Although today's headlines are more focused on technologies like Artificial Intelligence than on the Metaverse, companies are still exploring the many possibilities that the virtual world has to offer.
The most recent example of this is Forbes, a magazine specializing in business and finance, which has just announced its entry into the metaverse, through The Sandbox blockchain platform, based on the Ethereum network.
A luxurious pool, an elegant bar and an attractive gallery
Through X (formerly Twitter), Forbes invited its readers to stop by its new permanent experience in the blockchain metaverse, where they can enjoy a dip in the pool, have a drink at the bar or visit its Under30 2024 gallery.
Forbes highlighted that all these elements were carefully selected to offer a visually attractive environment, which encourages user exploration and interaction in the virtual world, and which guarantees an exclusive experience.
Through this virtual experience, readers and users of the popular magazine will also be able to experience, first-hand, Forbes' luxurious and extravagant lifestyle, as well as meet American businessman and politician Malcolm Forbes, editor of the magazine.
Although Malcolm passed away more than two decades ago, in February 1990, the potential of the metaverse allows us to overcome these physical and temporal limitations, facilitating interaction with digital clones or avatars inspired by deceased people like Malcolm.
Exclusive content and more
In addition to interactive experiences, Forbes also wants to offer its users access to exclusive workshops and events, which allow them to bring together the brightest minds from various sectors, “facilitating meaningful conversations and networking opportunities in a vibrant and immersive environment.”
The magazine has also strategically integrated QR codes into its new virtual world, which will allow people who find them to unlock access to other exclusive Forbes content.

Forbes emphasized that it has acquired the Virtual terrain in The Sandbox permanently, in order to establish their presence in the virtual world.
Taha Ahmed, Forbes' chief growth officer, he highlighted that by establishing a permanent presence in the digital world, “we are opening new avenues for our community to connect, learn and grow together in ways that were previously unimaginable.”
Forbes is coming to The Matrix World
Forbes' entry into the virtual world has sparked curiosity in the crypto community about what other experiences or platforms the magazine is considering to continue its exploration of the Metaverse.
Because of this, user @Godeater_m asked the magazine when it would make its way to The Matrix World platform, to which Forbes responded “soon.” This suggests that the popular business magazine is considering other platforms and virtual worlds to delve deeper into the advantages and benefits of the metaverse and how this can help it innovate in the experience of its users.
