The famous Real Madrid football club and Bratz dolls are coming to the public in the form of NFT tokens, with cards with unique designs and original collectibles that users can obtain exclusively. 

On NFT tokens, or non-fungible tokens, with an attractive speculative potential, attract thousands of fans around the world who seek to benefit from their incredible potential. These tokens, which come in the form of collectible cards, give their owners the benefit of owning a unique and original piece in the digital world, which could be appreciated and become highly valuable, as if it were a work of art. In fact, many of these tokens have been auctioned for several thousand and hundreds of thousands of dollars. 

Now, to take advantage of this potential, the Real Madrid football club is teaming up with the NFT company Sorare, which has more than 50.000 active users, and who will issue a first edition of collectibles featuring the acclaimed players of this team. The auction is open on the platform sorare, where fans can get their hands on limited edition digital collectibles and win numerous prizes. 

The auction of the cards of the Real Madrid players was confirmed by the team on their official Twitter account, who expressed that users will be able to get up to 10 free cards by entering the Sorare platform. 

On the other hand, the popular Bratz dolls will also be there throwing limited edition collectibles, starting December 22, through a partnership with Animoca Brands and Worldwide Asset Exchange (WAX). The company that created the famous dolls, MGA Entertainment, is also preparing a digital game based on Ethereum, which will be available next year.

The power of trading cards

In both announcements, the companies responsible stated that fans – of both Real Madrid and Bratz – will be able to own rare editions of their favourite players and characters. The potential of NFTs is precisely their ability to be indivisible and unique tokens or assets, non-fungible and non-duplicable, which can be maintained within a network. blockchain and due to these characteristics, they are ideal for the design and creation of unique collector's pieces. 

On Sorare, Real Madrid collectibles can be traded or transferred between other fans and collectors in an internal marketplace within the platform, which features various card packs that vary in content and value. Football fans who purchase their collectible cards will be ranked based on the performance of real players in real matches. The platform handles collectible tokens from 102 other football teams, including Juventus, Atlético Madrid, Paris Saint Germain and FC Porto. 

On the other hand, in the case of Bratz, the first 1.500 users who purchase packs of 1, 3 or 9 collectible cards, with rare, unique and original designs of these dolls, will receive a secret code that they can redeem for 200 Bratz Coin tokens, to be used in the game that the company plans to launch. Likewise, the collectible cards of the Bratz dolls will come in 5 levels of rarity, where in the last level, a collectible card can be exchanged for a real Bratz doll. 

The launch of the Bratz trading cards will be accompanied by a digital game called Bratz Lookz, based on the Ethereum blockchain, which, as the company indicates, “It will be the first step for Bratz to take over the blockchain world”

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are digital tokens ERC-721 that represent something unique within a blockchain. These tokens are designed on the Ethereum network, and base their existence and operation on the empowerment of digital scarcity to take advantage of the effect created by limited editions of products. NFT tokens represent a real product, object or person in the digital world. 

Their main characteristic is their non-fungibility, meaning they do not deteriorate, wear out or get destroyed, and they cannot be divided or fractioned, guaranteeing inalterability, originality and uniqueness at all times. 

Gerald Piqué invests $4 million in Sorare

As we have already said, the speculative potential of NFT tokens attracts thousands of fans, and Gerald Pique, the renowned Spanish-born soccer player, joined Sorare in a financing round where he invested 4 million dollars, along with his partner Emmanuel Seuge, to attract more football leagues and teams and boost the NFT market. 

According to the report he made ForbesPiqué will serve as a strategic advisor to drive Sorare's strategies, attracting all those leagues and clubs looking for a new source of income. As well as a way to export their brands and players to new markets, such as blockchain and cryptocurrencies. 

Adoption of NFT tokens in the world

One of the most recent adoptions of these tokens was by the famous television network with the BBC, which will launch a digital game based on the hit series Dr. Who, with unique collectibles of the characters from this series. 

NFT tokens are conquering the world of digital games, where the most popular are CryptoKitties, who in 2017 sold her first kitten named “genesis”, for a total of 246,9 ETH, equivalent at that time to $117.712 USD, and currently to about $160.000 USD; Axie Infinity, a game designed to raise digital creatures, and  Age of Chains, a digital card game that shows an interesting “intergalactic adventure in a decentralized future”.

In August, even the famous Paris Hilton made her entry into the NFT universe, auctioning off a drawing of her kitten that she made for $17.000 USD.
