
The number of Shiba Inu (SHIB) holders has increased by 3,8% since July, according to data from CoinMarketCap.
Community adoption of Shiba Inu has been growing in recent months, despite the current market situation. The launch of products such as ShibaSwap and the announcement of new ones such as Shiba Eternity, SHIB: The Metaverse or the SHI stablecoin, seem to have managed to attract a significant number of new users and investors to the project.
According to CoinMarketCap statistics, Shiba Inu had 1.228.038 SHIB holders as of September 24The figure represents a 3,8% increase compared to July, when the number of memecoin holders was 1.190.147.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) is popular in the crypto ecosystem for its exponential growth, which led several investors to quickly become millionaires. Since its launch in August 2020, to date, SHIB's growth has been an impressive 13.661.521%.
However, like the rest of cryptocurrencies this year, SHIB has been hit by the bear market and the current macroeconomic situation, resulting in its price hovering around $0,000011 USD at the time of writing.
The 14th cryptocurrency in the market by capitalization
SHIB, with a current market cap of $6.144 billion, It ranks as the fourteenth (14th) largest cryptocurrency on the market, behind the original memecoin, Dogecoin (DOGE) and two of the most important cryptocurrencies in the ecosystem, Polkadot (DOT) and Polygon Network (MATIC).
On the other hand, the growth in the number of holders in the last quarter of the year also places Shiba Inu as the second cryptocurrency with the highest adoption among the most capitalized cryptoassets in the market, after Polygon Network, with a 7,06 % increase in the number of MATIC holders.
Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market cap, has seen a 0,47% increase in the number of holders over the past three months, while Shiba Inu's rival Dogecoin has seen a 1,31% increase. All of this data was consulted on the CoinMarketCap platform.
Shiba Inu among Ethereum whales' favourites
The WhaleStats platform, which lists the largest Ethereum token whales, notes that Shiba Inu is in third position as one of the most held cryptocurrencies by whales or big investors, after the stablecoins USD Coin (USDC) and Tether (USDT).

According to data shown by this platform, which excludes Ether (ETH), Ethereum whales hold a combined $138.166.023 USD worth of SHIB tokens; this represents 5,5% of the whales’ total token holdings, according to the source.
In June, Ethereum “blue whale” 0073 invested no less than $2,89 million in Shiba Inu tokens, acquiring a total of 356.078 million SHIB at the time. The tokens were sold shortly afterward, a sign that big investors are looking to cash in on falling prices and volatility in the crypto market.
On the other hand, the growth in the number of addresses holding SHIB currently highlights the interest and optimism of investors that the SHIB price could recover in the future.
