The city of Mendoza has authorized the use of cryptocurrencies and stablecoins as means of payment for municipal taxes.
The local government of Mendoza, a city located in western Argentina, has reported that its citizens and residents can use cryptocurrencies to pay their taxes, specifically, stablecoins such as Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), DAI (DAI), among others.
This initiative seeks to provide citizens of Mendoza with greater facilities to use digital assets in their daily lives.
Nicolás Chaves, general director of Rentas, commented that citizens and residents of Mendoza can use cryptocurrencies along with traditional payment methods, which gives them an easier, faster, simpler and safer way to comply with your obligations as taxpayers, “whether from a mobile device or from a computer.”
How to pay taxes with cryptocurrencies in Mendoza?
According to the local government of Mendoza, tax payments with cryptocurrencies and stablecoins can be made from its web portal using the button “Pay online”.
Citizens will have to choose the type of taxes to pay, select the “e-payment” payment method and then the option to pay in cryptocurrencies. After this, according to The government website states, users will be able to see a window with the amount to be paid and a QR code that they can scan using their crypto wallets to complete and finalize the payment.
