An American influencer lashes out at Milei after losing a million dollars with her cryptocurrency

The rise and fall of LIBRA: The token promoted by Javier Milei

An American influencer, known as Ape, has unleashed his fury against Javier Milei, president of Argentina, after losing a million dollars investing in the cryptocurrency $LIBRA, promoted by the president in February 2025.

In a viral video, Ape, on the verge of collapse, shouted: “I’m broke! I’m going to find you!”, blaming Milei for the collapse of the token, which went from a market capitalization of $4.000 billion to almost zero in hours after an alleged “rug pull” fraud. Milei deleted his initial post on X, where he praised the project as a boost to the Argentine economy, and distanced himself by saying that he was not “informed” about the details, but the damage had already been done.

Ape, who claimed to have trusted Milei because of his position, destroyed a screen with his image and threatened to travel to Argentina to confront him. The case, which includes 112 complaints of fraud against Milei, has generated an international scandal, with losses estimated at 251 million dollars for thousands of investors. The Argentine opposition is calling for investigations, while the influencer claims: "You scammed me, I have nothing." Milei insists that it was a private matter, but his history with questionable cryptocurrencies, such as CoinX in 2022, fuels criticism about his responsibility in this financial fiasco.
