An Argentine deputy gives away 1.000 DAI for catching the “most useless procedure”

The #TramiteMasInutil contest seeks to eliminate the country's excessive bureaucracy

Most useless procedure on the cover

The Argentine congressman will give away 1.000 DAI from his savings to whoever can discover the most useless bureaucratic procedure.

Martín Tetaz, Argentine deputy for the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires from the Juntos por el Cambio party, has launched a contest through his Twitter account to find the most useless bureaucratic procedure. The aim of this contest is to use user complaints to eliminate bureaucracy in the country.

The Tetaz contest arose from a similar call made by Javier Millei, also an Argentine deputy, who raffled off his public employee salary among all those users who reported the most absurd bureaucratic procedures in the country.

The contest to find the most useless procedure

To participate in the contest, users must share on Twitter the most absurd procedure they have faced, also indicating the jurisdictional body (which can be federal, provincial or municipal) and adding the contest hashtag: #MostUselessProcess.

Any user can participate, regardless of whether they do so with their real name and surname or using some kind of pseudonym.

Who will win the contest? The winner will be The useless procedure that receives the most “RT” of users before the end of April. In the event of a tie, the winner will be the one with the most “favorites.”

As for the prize, Argentine deputy will offer 1.000 DAI of his savings, or its equivalent in Argentine pesos, with the winner choosing which exchange the exchange rate will be taken from. The deputy himself will contact the winner by private message to inform him, who must provide his digital wallet address to receive the transfer.

When the contest ends, a list will be published with all the #TramiteMasInutil of each Argentine district. The objective will be pressure the governments of each region to eliminate these procedures, something that will begin in those districts where Together for Change governs.

The most useless procedures in Argentina

The first responses to the contest were not long in coming, and some users shared examples such as that of the National Social Security Administration of Argentina, which asks retirees to periodically present a “proof of life” to prove that they are still alive.

In this regard, many users have pointed out how absurd it is to have to present a “survival certificate” to carry out many procedures in Argentina, describing it as absurd to have to prove that one is alive to carry out a procedure.

They have also reported that they request “updated death certificates", which makes no sense, since you cannot die more than once.
