The Nexus mainnet was launched, in alpha version, on December 26.
zkLink has set out to revolutionize the interoperability and liquidity of the blockchain ecosystem through the third layer or Layer 3.
The zkLink development team has announced the Nexus mainnet official launchNexus, its L3 solution built on Ethereum's Layer 2 chains, focused on improving the scalability and interoperability of the networks and solutions that are part of this blockchain ecosystem. Nexus implements Zero-Knowledge or ZK technology to provide a unified and secure commerce layer with support for multiple rollups.
Through this third-layer solution, zkLink also seeks to solve one of the main challenges facing the blockchain ecosystem, liquidity fragmentation.
zkLink Nexus integrates with Polygon zkEVM, zkSync and other L2s
As part of the Nexus mainnet launch celebration, zkLink developers announced the successful integration of their L3 solution with several of Ethereum’s most innovative L2 solutions, including Polygon zkEVM, zkSync, Linea, and Scroll.
zkLink has launched an interactive platform called Playground, which aims to allow users to interact directly with the blockchain protocol.
On their official website, the developers explain that the Playground platform is designed to facilitate direct user interaction with the zkLink protocol, serving as a cost-effective bridge for executing asset transfers across any of the integrated L2 networks.
The fierce competition to lead DeFi
The layer 2 ecosystem presents a fierce competition in which protocols fight every day to lead the DeFi ecosystem, which accumulates more than $ 51.000 million dollars in deposited value (Total Locked Value – TVL) within their smart contracts.
Protocols such as Polygon, zkEVM, zkSync, Linea and Scroll are driving scalability in the Ethereum ecosystem, allowing transactions to be processed quickly and at very low costs.
However, as the zkLink team points out, blockchain layer 2 still faces a major challenge, liquidity fragmentation. Therefore, through Nexus, zkLink seeks to solve this problem, providing an efficient solution that allows Unlocking multi-chain liquidity and rollups.
Nexus was designed with the goal of building a unified multi-ZK-Rollup L3 trading layer, to bridge the gap between different ZK-Rollup L2 ecosystems and reduce liquidity fragmentation. In addition, Nexus also seeks to improve transaction throughput and reduce costs to the minimum possible. All this, while inheriting the rigorous security features of the Ethereum mainnet, so as not to affect the integrity of users.
