The Telos Foundation has unveiled its new roadmap for 2025, highlighting the implementation of an Ethereum-compatible Zero-Knowledge Virtual Machine, Telos zkEVM.
Telos, one of the fastest and most efficient blockchain platforms in the crypto ecosystem, has presented its new roadmap detailing a series of technological innovations that promise to transform the development of the decentralized application (dApp) ecosystem.
This roadmap, which runs from Q2024 2025 to the end of XNUMX, includes the implementation of a zero-knowledge Ethereum virtual machine (zkEVM) and the integration of SNARKtor, a protocol that optimizes the verification of cryptographic proofs and is designed to solve scalability problems in zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKs).
As Telos prepares for these important developments, the price of its native token, TLOS, has seen an increase of almost 18% in recent days.
Telos to implement zk-EVM next year
The development of a zero-knowledge Ethereum virtual machine (zkEVM) is a key component in the blockchain network roadmap.
According to publication Developed by the Telos development team, this system will allow blockchain builders to create decentralized applications or DApps faster, more efficiently and more cost-effectively, taking advantage of the capabilities of zero-knowledge proofs.
In the roadmap, the developers described that zkEVM will use TLOS as its native token and will be integrated into the Ethereum network, making it easier to build decentralized applications with a focus on privacy and efficiency.
The first phase of the roadmap focuses on the deployment of the zkEVM virtual machine on the Telos testnet during the fourth quarter of this year. At this stage, two key operations will be optimized: Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) acceleration and Hash Function acceleration. These improvements will significantly reduce test generation time, which is crucial for DApp scalability. Additionally, the implementation of zkEVM on the testnet will lay the groundwork for future upgrades and ensure the network’s ability to handle decentralized applications more efficiently.
SNARKtor, key in the new Telos zkEVM
Another important milestone in the Telos roadmap is the integration of SNARKtor, a protocol designed to improve the aggregation of zero-knowledge proofs. SNARKtor will enable more efficient verification of multiple proofs at layer one (L1) of the network, reducing gas costs and improving application scalability. This integration will take place in several phases, starting with the LXNUMX.Initial deployment on testnet in Q2025 XNUMX.
According to the developers, the aggregation of proofs through SNARKtor represents a major advancement for the blockchain, as the protocol will allow multiple proofs to be condensed into one, streamlining the verification process and minimizing associated fees.
As Telos moves toward full SNARKtor integration, applications and protocols utilizing its zkEVM are expected to benefit from more scalable and privacy-focused interactions.
Following testing of the protocol on testnet, Telos Foundation developers will deploy SNARKtor on the Telos mainnet in Q2025 XNUMX.
“By the end of Q2025 XNUMX, the full feature set (hardware acceleration, SNARKtor integration, and efficient proof handling) will be available on the mainnet, offering a comprehensive solution for zero-knowledge proofs on Ethereum using the Telos token.”, the Telos team stressed.
Telos X launches and TLOS price jumps 17% this week
In addition to unveiling its new roadmap, the Telos Foundation has also announced the launch of a new cryptocurrency exchange, called Telos X.
This launch represents another highlight in Telos’ growth strategy. It is a platform designed to optimize token listings and increase liquidity within this blockchain ecosystem. As explained by the developers, with the TLOS token as the main trading pair, Telos X will facilitate the listing process for new projects and offer attractive rewards, such as discounted fees and airdrops, to incentivize community participation in the blockchain.
The introduction of Telos X and the presentation of the new roadmap coincide with a significant increase in the price of TLOS, which has seen a growth of 5% in the last 34 hours and 17,9% in the last 7 days. This increase, according to experts, reflects the market's confidence in the innovations and continued growth of the blockchain network.

Telos X not only seeks to improve liquidity but also positions itself as a vital component for Telos’ growth in a competitive cryptocurrency market. Furthermore, the development and future implementation of SNARKtor and Telos zkEVM also represent a strategic step towards improving the efficiency and scalability of dApps and attracting more users and developers to this ecosystem. With all this, Telos will be able to further strengthen its position in the blockchain space and lead the way in the adoption of zero-knowledge (ZK) technologies.
