Soneium and Chainlink will boost interoperability in the blockchain ecosystem

Soneium, the new Ethereum second layer network developed by Sony Block Solutions Labs, has announced its integration into Chainlink’s Scale program.

The announcement made by Sony Block Solutions Labs in recent days represents a major step forward in the evolution of Soneium, which will now be able to access Chainlink's advanced capabilities, including its decentralized data feeds and its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP).

Soneium, which was officially launched in August, aims to offer Web3 technologies to Sony’s vast user base. Its integration with Chainlink will not only facilitate access to real-time data, but will also enable the network to handle complex applications and support high user traffic, as noted by Jun Watanabe, president of Sony Block Solutions Labs.

«Chainlink's proven infrastructure ensures Soneium Minato can handle high traffic and provide a smooth onboarding experience", said Jun.

Soneium joins the Chainlink revolution

Soneium’s integration into Chainlink’s Scale program enables its Minato testnet to access Chainlink’s data feeds, which are essential for the operation of smart contracts in decentralized finance (DeFi) applications. These feeds not only provide real-time data, but are also critical for the accurate execution of transactions in a blockchain environment.

With Soneium’s ability to access reliable and up-to-date data through Chainlink, the network will be able to support a variety of decentralized applications (DApps) that require external information, such as asset prices, exchange rates, and other economic indicators. This represents a crucial evolution for developers looking to create innovative solutions in the Web3 ecosystem, allowing Soneium to become a key player in the market.

Additionally, it is worth noting that Chainlink has processed over $15 billion in transaction value, underscoring the reliability and robustness of its blockchain infrastructure.

Chainlink CCIP Protocol: Borderless Interoperability

One of the highlights of this collaboration is the integration of Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as Soneium’s canonical cross-chain infrastructure. This protocol will allow Soneium to seamlessly interact with other blockchains, facilitating the integration of Web3 and traditional systems.

Interoperability has been a persistent challenge in the world of cryptocurrencies and blockchain. As more projects emerge and users look for solutions that work across multiple platforms, Chainlink’s CCIP becomes an essential tool. To date, this protocol has been adopted by major institutions, proving its effectiveness and security.

Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, stated that “Soneium's adoption of CCIP positions the company to lead the evolution of Web2 towards a verifiable web«This implies that Soneium is not only looking to improve its own infrastructure, but is also contributing to the creation of a more cohesive and collaborative ecosystem in the blockchain space.

A collaboration that promises to improve the experience in the digital ecosystem

With the integration of Chainlink, Soneium is well positioned to address future challenges in the blockchain space and deliver a more streamlined experience to blockchain users.

The combination of high-quality data feeds and cross-chain interoperability will enable developers to build applications that are more robust and efficient, which is a boon for Soneium and the growth of the blockchain ecosystem at large.
