Next week, Ethereum developers will be ready to deploy the Shanghai upgrade on the Sepolia testnet, one of the last steps before its arrival on the mainnet, which is scheduled for March. Shanghai arrives in Sepolia next week

📍‌The Ethereum Foundation has confirmed that the Shanghai upgrade will be tested on the Sepolia testnet on February 28. The implementation of this update brings the long-awaited withdrawals of stakes on Ethereum even closer. Shanghai will be activated on the Sepolia network at epoch 56832, the blockchain developers reported. 

If the Shanghai implementation on Sepolia is successful, the upgrade is expected to be tested on one more testnet, Goerli, before its final arrival on the Ethereum mainnet. 

Shanghai, one of the most anticipated updates to the Ethereum network, will allow validators to withdraw their ETH stake from the Beacon Chain. 

Google joins as validator of the Tezos blockchain

📍‌The Internet giant continues its bid to lead Web3. Recently, Google Cloud, Google's cloud division, has partnered with blockchain platform Tezos to accelerate the development of Web3. In a releaseJames Tromans, director of Web3 engineering at Google Cloud, highlighted that the alliance with Tezos will allow developers of the decentralized internet to have a secure and reliable infrastructure from which to innovate and scale their projects and applications. 

On the other hand, Tezos Foundation Chief Commercial Officer Mason Edwards highlighted that the alliance will boost institutional adoption and create a wide range of opportunities to accelerate development and innovation in the blockchain ecosystem. 

Over the past year, Google Cloud has entered into several partnerships with projects in the crypto industry, joining other blockchains such as Ronin Network, Flow, and Chainlink as a validator. In addition to this, in October last year, Google announced the launch of a managed node hosting service on Ethereum. It is also collaborating with cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase in its goal to accelerate the development of Web3. 

Lightning Network capacity increases on bitcoins

📍‌Lightning Network's bitcoin capacity exceeds 5.300 BTC. Currently, the Bitcoin network scaling solution has reached a new high of 5.364,28 BTC, which is equivalent to approximately $130,7 million USD. This metric indicates the value that users of the scaling network can transfer in P2P payments and reveals the steady growth that LN has experienced in recent years. 

The LN network's bitcoin capacity surpassed 1.000 BTC for the first time in 2020, representing a 530% growth in the network's transfer capacity over the past 3 years.
