
Ridley Scott's film based on the origins of Ethereum will be financed through the sale of NFTs.
The Infinity Machine is one of Ridley Scott's upcoming projects. It is a film based on the origin and growth of Ethereum, based on the book The Infinity Machine by writer Camilla Russo. The famous director will participate as a producer, through Scott Free Productions.
The film will be a pioneer in the use of blockchain technology, as it will take advantage of Ethereum's functionalities for the sale of NFTs with which it will be financed, but also with which it will form a decentralized autonomous organization, DAO Infinity Machine, which will allow members to earn some benefits and become associate producers of the film.
El The provisional budget for the production is 16 million dollars. In this sense, the artists involved in the project will receive 22,5% of the income, while 10% will go to a community treasury fund.

The NFT collection of The Infinity Machine
The collection of non-fungible tokens The Infinity Machine is composed of 10.499 pieces of collaborative art by 36 emerging artists natives of countries where decentralization has a great impact. Among the participants we find artists from Argentina, Venezuela, Bolivia, Chile, Cuba and Kenya. So far, two airdrops of the NFT collection have been launched and both have been completely sold out.
Each of the artists has created 10 versions of the Ethereum logo, plus a work of art that represents your vision of the values of Ethereum and an original frame. Around 30% of the NFTs in the collection will receive random rewards such as the chance to appear as an extra in the film, visit the recording studios, get an invitation to the premiere or appear in the credits.
In the first one they were sold 4.156 NFTs, which raised 168 ETH (about $670.000) in just 28 hours. In the second sale, another XNUMX ETH (about $XNUMX) were sold. 1834 NFT, with a fixed price of 0,15 ETH, raising a total of 244,85 ETH.
Pending the third sale, the collection can be seen on OpenSea, alongside the NFTs of WAGMAM whose purpose is to reward DAO participants.
NFTs and the film industry
Ridley Scott's project is not the first to seek to leverage blockchain technology and NFTs in the film industry. Niels Juul, who has produced many of Scorcese's films, unveiled a new project in May NFT Studios, a Web 3 film production company with which it aims to revolutionize and democratize access to the film industry.
NFTs will be used to finance film productions. In this way, any viewer will be able to participate directly in their film projects preferred and get rewarded for doing so. In some cases, they will even be able to participate in decision-making through their NFTs.
