A UK court has issued an order to freeze part of Craig Wright's funds in the country, after losing the trial against COPA, in which it was determined that he is not the person behind the pseudonym of Satoshi Nakamoto and, therefore, is not the creator of Bitcoin.
The order was issued by British Judge James Mellor, who is handling the case and who sentenced the March 14. that Craig Wright is not the creator of Bitcoin nor the creator of the technology that powers the cryptocurrency.
After losing the lawsuit against the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA), Wright is now responsible for the costs of the lawsuit against him. However, due to his unethical history and the capital movements he has made in recent days, Judge Mellor issued an order to freeze part of the funds he keeps in the United Kingdom, in order to prevent the Australian businessman from evading the legal costs of the trial.
Wright has a long history of defaulting on payments
CoinDesk recently reported that Craig Wright moved the shares of his company RCJBR Holding to the Singapore-based company DeMorgan. According to the outlet, this was brought to the attention of the COPA alliance to the UK Court, which interpreted it as an attempt by the businessman to avoid his responsibilities related to the trial, for which a freezing order was issued for the funds.
According to the judgment cited by CoinDesk, Judge Mellor indicated that Wright's movements of funds understandably gave rise to serious concerns that he was implementing measures to try to evade the consequences of the costs of his loss at trial.
Judge Mellor also highlighted, in the new sentence, that the Australian businessman has a long history of non-compliance with money payment orders that were previously issued, in the loss of other cases.
In total, the funds that were frozen from Wright in the United Kingdom amount to 6 million pounds sterling, equivalent to $7,57 million dollarsOn the other hand, on March 28, the crypto alliance indicated that the costs associated with the trial recent figures amount to about £6,7 million, or about $8,45 million.
The Craig Wright Farce
Wright, who claimed to be the person behind the name of Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto since 2016, lost to the COPA alliance in the trial that began in the United Kingdom in February, and which was held to determine whether Wright was really who he claimed to be and whether he had invented Bitcoin.
However, after a series of irrefutable evidence presented by COPA and the countless inconsistencies detected in Wright's statements and testimonies, and even the detection of the false documents he presented for years, many of which were created using ChatGPT, the court determined that Craig Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto, therefore, “is not the author of the Bitcoin whitepaper, is not the creator of Bitcoin, and is not the creator of the technology that powers Bitcoin.”
