RCD Espanyol fans will be the first to be able to buy tickets, merchandise and food using Bitcoin.
Next season, Real Club Deportivo Espanyol will become the First Spanish professional football team to accept Bitcoin payments, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies for tickets, merchandising, and food at the stadium. In this way, it becomes the first LaLiga team to accept cryptocurrencies as a payment method.
This will be possible thanks to a Sponsorship deal with Crypto Snack, a Barcelona-based company responsible for SNACK, one of the main sports and gaming tokens, which can also be used as a payment method in the stadium or in club stores. The partnership marks the first step in a long-term project that seeks to implement Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in the world of sport.
The sponsorship deal will be valid for the next season and the three following seasons. The deal also includes the Crypto Snack brand on the team's jersey and training pants.
