Axie Infinity expands its gameplay and utility with the development of its 3D digital land metaverse Project KY.
The popular blockchain game Play-to-Earn Axie Infinity has become much more than just a game. The mechanics Play-to-Earn o Play to win Axie has helped millions of people discover the true potential of technology blockchain and NFT, becoming a digital space where users can earn a living and the main source of income for thousands worldwide. Now, its creators announce the launch of their next digital land metaverse in the third dimension (3D), called Project KY, where users and players can build and share their own virtual worlds.
Axie Infinity is a living project that is built alongside the community. The launch of Project KY kicks off a new gaming model within Axie Infinity. The blockchain game will integrate new features to be more fun and entertaining, offering better opportunities for its users and players. So far, Axie Infinity has positioned itself as one of the most popular games and metaverses most popular blockchain in the crypto industry, with more than 2,9 million active users worldwide. Development during 2021
Project KY has a team of 15 people who have been dedicated throughout 2021 to the development of Axie Land. Sky Mavis shared part of her prototype within Project KY, showcasing a new game mode in which armies of Axies unite in massive battlefields to control Lunacia, the virtual Axie universe.

Digital Land in the Axie Nation
Axie Infinity allows its participants to play, earn rewards, and create their own digital economies within the game. It is a digital nation where they can have fun and generate value from skills and NFTs. Within this metaverse, digital land has seen great utility and growth, reaching an average value of 3,1 ethers (about $12.000 currently), according to the MarketPlace from the blockchain game. Other plots of land located in areas such as Mystic and Genesis are the most valuable in this virtual world, reaching a value of up to 300 ethers, equivalent to about $1,16 million dollars.
In December of last year, an Axie Infinity investor paid $2,5 million for a single parcel of digital land located on Genesis, marking the largest single sale of digital land so far in the metaverse.
New ways to earn SLP
Axie Infinity players receive SLP tokens as rewards for their participation and demonstrated skill within the game, where battles are fought between teams of axie creatures. Now, with the launch of Project KY, players will have new ways to earn SLP tokens, such as shared quests, seasonal tasks and events, social interactions, digital land production, and more.
On the other hand, the creators of Axie are introducing changes to their system to prevent dishonest behavior from some of their players. In her report on January 1, Sky Mavis warned about a violation of Axie’s terms. Several members of the community use “profit trading,” agreeing on the outcome of battles in advance, to make profits dishonestly. Those involved in such behavior have lost the profits obtained during Season 19 of Axie Infinity and will not be able to use their creatures for a period of one year, the company reported after responding to multiple complaints made by the community. Sky Mavis took these actions to continue empowering its community of users, guaranteeing them transparency, security and freedom.
Over 2 million NFT sales
In the past 30 days, Axie Infinity has celebrated a total of 2,25 million individual NFT sales, according to data DappRadar’s charts, placing Axie at the top of the monitoring platform’s weekly and monthly NFT rankings. The most traded NFTs have been plots of virtual land and axies from the Origin collection, created during the first 2 months of Axie Infinity’s development and existence in 2018. Origin Axie are the rarest and scarcest creatures in the blockchain game, with only 4.088 mystical creatures in existence.
