The Phone 1 smartphone, developed by consumer technology company Nothing Technology Limited, will natively integrate the Polygon network to bring users closer to Blockchain and Web3.

Polygon Network, the leading Ethereum scaling solution, has partnered with London-based company Nothing Technology Limited to launch a new blockchain-focused smartphone.

It's about the model Phone 1, the next release from Nothing Technology, which will integrate the Polygon network natively to allow users to interact with the powerful digital ecosystem built on this blockchain.

To date, Polygon Network has more than 19.000 decentralized protocols and applications implemented in its blockchain ecosystem and more than 8.000 active developers per month, who work to maintain the infrastructure, create new applications and continue to drive technological development and innovation.

The launch of Phone 1 will be announced during the “Return to Instinct” event, scheduled for next Tuesday, July 12, reported network developers.

Polygon: Mass adoption of Web 3 will happen on smartphones

Polygon Network co-founder Mihailo Bjelic had commented on Twitter this week that mass adoption of Web 3 will come via mobile devices, so Polygon was preparing for Bringing new technologies to smartphones

Bjelic had also noted that Polygon had no intention of launching its own smartphones, as Solana developers recently announced, but rather would be collaborating with one of the largest smartphone manufacturers globally.

The strategic alliance between Polygon Network and Nothing Technology will allow the network to drive mass adoption of new technologies, while Nothing will be taking an important step towards pioneering the integration of real-world products with the blockchain ecosystem.

Nothing Technology has plans to integrate blockchain applications into all its products in the future, to unlock sustainable and secure access to Web 3 for its millions of users and consumers around the world.

NFTs for Phone 1 launched

The consumer technology company reported that the launch of Phone 1 will be accompanied by an airdrop of NFTs, called “Black Dot NFT”, which will be based on the Polygon network and that will serve as membership passes to unlock exclusive benefits for its holders.

Nothing Technology NFTs will also serve to unlock early access to the company’s upcoming products and releases.

The launch of these NFTs is scheduled to begin this Thursday, according to the insights provided by Nothing Technology on Twitter.

A sustainable and environmentally conscious smartphone

Nothing Technology is committed to being environmentally sustainable, working with companies around the world to assess the environmental impact of their products and manufacturing processes.

In addition to this, the company noted that it has neutralized part of its carbon footprint by offsetting the electricity used in the manufacturing process of its new smartphone. It has also purchased carbon credits to offset the additional emissions from its new product.

For all these reasons, Polygon says its entry into the smartphone industry alongside Nothing Technology is in line with its environmental goals.

Polygon reached its first sustainability milestone in June this year, achieving the carbon neutrality of the blockchain network.

This milestone is in line with the vision expressed in its Green Manifesto, to become a carbon neutral network to promote technological development in a sustainable way.

Over the past two months, Polygon Network has been at the forefront of innovation in the crypto industry, announcing new partnerships and groundbreaking products such as Polygon ID, Polygon Avail, and Polygon Nightfall.
