Binance Chain’s leading decentralized exchange Pancakeswap is expanding into the blockchain-based gaming market.
PancakeSwap Gaming Marketplace is a new entity incubated by PancakeSwap to officially explore the potential of the GameFi sector.
The DEX creators presented their latest project as “a significant leap into the exciting realm of blockchain gaming,” with which users will be able to explore a new level of creativity and excitement.
As part of the new marketplace, PancakeSwap is also introducing new blockchain games, which will transport users and players to fantastic, action-packed worlds, where they can receive prizes in CAKE tokens and access many more benefits.
A few months ago, Pancakeswap introduced its first blockchain game Pancake Protectors, developed in collaboration with Mobox and currently its flagship game.

The launch of the PancakeSwap Gaming Marketplace has positively impacted the price of CAKE, which rose by more than 15% on Wednesday.

The PancakeSwap Gaming Marketplace was created to serve the needs of the PancakeSwap community to navigate more opportunities in the blockchain industry in order to expand the reach of the DEX.
This is what the PancakeSwap developers expressed in a note published on Wednesday, in which they highlighted that, through this marketplace, they hope to further incentivize community participation to build a vibrant and innovative gaming ecosystem.
In addition to Pancake Protectors, an action-focused game, where players will have to defend the kingdom from the attacks of the Syrup Stormers, PancakeSwap is also introducing Pancake Mayor, a game that allows players to build their own cities with pancakes and manage their resources.
Pancake Protectors and Pancake Mayor are just two of the many blockchain games that will be added to the PancakeSwap Gaming Marketplace, the developers announced.
Furthermore, beyond being able to play these two games, PancakeSwap’s newly announced GameFi marketplace platform also allows players to interact and compete against others, earn rewards, and support blockchain game developers who want to join the platform.
CAKE price soars with marketplace announcement
PancakeSwap’s native CAKE token jumped over 15% in the past 24 hours, boosted by the launch of the PancakeSwap Gaming Marketplace.

CAKE is trading at $2,69 per unit at the time of writing, reaching its highest price since April of this year.
This significant rally in the CAKE price is also due to other positive factors surrounding the project, such as the launch of the Yield IQ liquidity tool and the strategic partnership with Google Cloud.
