Pablo Aldaz, from the first digital NFT club of the Sanfermines: "Being from Kiliki Club is another way of being from San Fermín"

Kiliki Club aims to create a new way to enjoy the Sanfermines, through blockchain technology

Kiliki Club cover

Kiliki Club is the first digital NFTs club of the Sanfermines about the blockchain. It is a space where people from all over the world can come together to enjoy the festival and share their passion for San Fermín, a celebration that attracts people from all corners of the world every year.

This is a collection of illustrations that represent a Kiliki, a figure from Pamplona folklore who usually chases children to play with them, and that will offer their holders access to the Kiliki Club community, where they will be able to participate in unique experiences, along with other members, during the San Fermín festivities, which are celebrated on July 7 every year in the Navarrese capital.

There will be 10.000 unique Kilikis, minted on the Polygon network, which will function as a membership card for the Club. Additionally, these NFTs will offer exclusive access to clothing, accessories, new NFT releases, access to private events, and much more.

Having a Kiliki will allow you to enjoy the Sanfermines in a different way, participating in a global community and owning the first digital asset linked to the Sanfermines.

If you have not yet signed up for the Whitelist, do not waste time, since tomorrow, June 24 (and throughout the month) NFTs will be minted for all those users who have signed up for the list before this date and it will be activated the option to get more Kilikis at a reduced price.

Later, on July 1, public minting will begin, with which You can get your Kiliki for 150 MATICS and on July 6th the reveal of the Kilikis and the first digital fan club of NFTs linked to the Sanfermines will officially start.

At Bit2Me News we have been chatting a little with Pablo, one of the creators of the project, who has told us many things about the Kiliki Club and what they have in mind.

Why was Kiliki Club created?

One of the ideas we had was to be able to take a little piece of San Fermín, with us, save it and be able to enjoy around the Kilikis using blockchain technology, no matter where we are.

From the beginning, we wanted to teach people what blockchain is and do it in a fun way. Our goal has always been to teach people about crypto and make the San Fermín festival more international.

If we stop to think about it, the Sanfermines are actually a decentralized event that happens every year in the same place. People from all over the world come to it, but not everyone has the opportunity to participate in the same way as someone from Pamplona. Here we find a need: offer everyone a deeper experience of San Fermín.

How could we do this? Very simple, we just had to replicate the operation of a San Fermín club, but within the blockchain, so that anyone, anywhere in the world could participate and obtain a NFT certifying your membership, which will open the doors to the events that we will organize every year for the Sanfermines.

How did the idea for Kiliki Club come about?

The idea arose in 2021, on January 1, which was also a “San Fermín staircase” day (the days of the San Fermín staircase are January 1, February 2, March 3, etc. ). That year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there were time restrictions, so we could not celebrate New Year's Eve, so we met in the morning.

We all live outside of Pamplona and we meet at San Fermín and at Christmas. We were talking and we agreed that we wanted to do something within the blockchain space. The first idea was to do something related to decentralized finance (DeFi), but in the end we decided that a project related to San Fermín would be more interesting.

That day, at the end, we came up with the idea of making a NFT collection that was related to the Sanfermines.

For Pablo Aldaz and his friends, one of the main objectives of Kiliki Club was to appear in the Diario de Navarra; Congratulations, goal achieved!

Shortly after, we made a landing page and a video, which we planned to distribute on WhatsApp, in which we explained to everyone, in the simplest way possible, what Kiliki Club is and what the idea behind this San Fermín club is. digital.

The video was intended for all those people in Pamplona, who had heard about the digital peña or NFTs, but who They were not clear about what blockchain technology was or were unaware of. Our idea was to educate them, and in the video we told them that we were going to help them understand it and get their first NFT.

One of the things we liked the most was that at that time many people signed up who did not know what MetaMask or an NFT was, but who were eager to learn and wanted to get involved in the world of blockchain.

What is Kiliki Club?

Kiliki Club is a collection of 10.000 NFTs (which will be expanded over time, so that more people join each year) that will have a function similar to that of the fan tokens, since they will allow you to participate in the club's supporters club.

In short, Kiliki Club is the first digital club for San Fermín. The objective of the Kilikis will be to offer unique experiences to their holders during the Sanfermines.

We have not wanted to invent anything; The concept of clubs has existed for many years. In short, We are like the first person who decided to laminate a membership card. He had a problem and there was a tool to solve that problem, but he was the first to bring the two concepts together and develop a solution.

What we have wanted, from the beginning, is to create an application that the people of Pamplona can understand, but to bring it to a decentralized system.

This vision has helped us reach people, since the idea of the club has connected very well with them. In fact, this vision led to the producers of The voice of the sun, a Spanish film about the Sanfermines in which Karra Elejalde and Carmen Machí participate, became interested in the project and contacted us, which has been a turning point in the project.

The film has allowed us expand our value, our reach and also expand the brand that Kiliki Club wants to create around San Fermín

Why the Kilikis?

Well, at first, we thought about doing something related to bulls, because of the running of the bulls and because the bull is one of the most representative figures of the Sanfermines. However, bulls are not a figure that reaches everyone and, in a way, could even cause rejection.

Finally, we decided on the Kilikis, which are a traditional figure of the festival; some big heads, who come out in processions and parades, to play and scare the children. Some of these Kilikis, like Caravinegar, are well-known and very loved characters in Navarra.

We think that The Kilikis would be much more fun and people (especially people from Pamplona or Navarra) would identify more with these dolls than with the figures of the bulls.

Kiliki Club and crypto education

From the beginning, we had the objective of teach everyone how crypto works. For this reason, we have followed our community very closely, with explanations and videos on how they have to create a MetaMask wallet, how they can configure the Polygon network in it and what they will have to do to receive their Kiliki on launch day.

We found a great disparity between people who knew about crypto and those who had never had contact with this technology. In this way, we decided to follow each step very closely, directly contacting those users who did not follow the marked steps and asking if they had encountered any problems or if they needed help creating the wallet.

Since the inception of the Whitelist, we estimate that we will have taught (and accompanied in the process) more than 300 people to create their first MetaMask wallet.

Our goal was that everyone who really wanted a Kiliki would have one. Therefore, everyone The Kilikis on the Whitelist are totally free, since people who are not used to the blockchain will not understand why they have to pay, even if they are just a few fees, to obtain their NFT. What we want is to create our digital club and teach people.

It would be a dream for us that, in many years, someone decides to focus on studying Solidity or develops a new disruptive blockchain because when he was 12 or 13 years old, he found out that there were some Kilikis in NFT and decided to learn more about the blockchain, cryptocurrencies and NFTs.

Solidarity Kilikis

Beyond crypto education, a 10% of everything raised from the sale of Kilikis will go to an NGO decided by the community, with the only exception that it will have to be a foundation that is established in Pamplona, that helps people in some way and that its social action takes place in the capital of Navarra.

This will be to give back a little to society, since the Sanfermines are a few days to enjoy and have a good time, but we must not forget all those people who are experiencing a complicated situation and who cannot have such a good time. It is for this reason that we want what we do to have a positive impact on the people of Pamplona.
