NFT marketplace Opensea has added support for the Arbitrum One network, one of the most active Ethereum scaling solutions in the crypto ecosystem.
Sidechains, second-layer solutions focused on scaling main networks such as Ethereum, have gained great popularity among cryptocurrency users, thanks to their ability to streamline the operation of blockchain networks and allow users to carry out fast transactions at very low costs.
Therefore, the non-fungible token (NFT) market platform Opensea decided to add support for its fifth network, the Arbitrum One sidechain, powered by Optimistic Rollup technology.
Arbitrum One is one of the most active Ethereum sidechains that allows decentralized applications (Dapps) on this blockchain to scale at a very low cost. Currently, Arbitrum is home to over 400 projects in the crypto ecosystem and about 22 NFT collections.
Arbitrum One's most popular NFT collections are available on Opensea
On Wednesday, September 21, Ethereum’s popular NFT marketplace enabled support for Arbitrum One NFTs, allowing some of the network’s most popular non-fungible token collections, such as Diamond Pepes, GMX Blueberries Club, and Smolverse, among others, to now be traded directly within its platform.
The launch of Arbitrum One on Opensea allows the network’s creators to trade their crypto collections within the popular NFT marketplace. Opensea developers informed Arbitrum creators on Wednesday that they should search for their collections on the marketplace and set their creator fees directly before any transaction with the new NFT collections.
Building a multi-chain and Web3 future
Opensea highlighted that the integration of Arbitrum One into its non-fungible token ecosystem represents a first step towards building a multi-chain and Web3 future. The NFT marketplace is aiming for interoperability to allow users to access and interact with the NFTs they want, on the blockchains of their choice.
At the moment, Opensea offers support for blockchains of Ethereum, Solana y Klaytn and for the sidechains of Polygon Network and, from now on, Arbitrum One.
However, the market reported that users can expect to see Support for new blockchain networks in the coming weeks, as it plans to continue its multi-chain expansion strategy.
Also, as the NFT ecosystem is already global in scale, Opensea will also expand its language support to include new languages beyond English, such as Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Japanese, French, Spanish, and German.
What is Arbitrum One?
Arbitrum One is a layer 2 solution developed by Offchain Labs to scale the Ethereum blockchain. This solution was officially launched in August of 2021.
Since then, it has become home to hundreds of projects in the crypto industry, including major ones like Uniswap, which have migrated their protocols to this network to guarantee their users scalability in transactions and very low commission fees.
