Arbitrum Nova uses AnyTrust technology to deliver higher transaction performance and scalability.
Offchain Labs, the company behind Ethereum’s scalability solution Arbitrum One, has unveiled a new blockchain specifically designed for gaming and social applications.
On its Twitter account, the company reported that the new network, called Arbitrum Nova is the first blockchain in its ecosystem to use AnyTrust technology to offer a high level of scalability and performance that allows for faster withdrawals at a very low cost.
The features of the new network designed by Offchain Labs make it ideal for the gaming and social applications sector, the company reported, while its Arbitrum One solution, based on Rollups, will continue to be the home of financial applications, such as DeFi and NFT projects that are developed within its digital ecosystem.
This new network optimized for gaming and transaction-cost-sensitive applications will enable the gaming industry and social ecosystems to thrive on the blockchain.
On the other hand, the development of this new network allows Offchain Labs to cover almost all existing use cases of blockchain technology.

Blockchain and the video game industry
The potential of blockchain technology has given rise to a new generation of video games that has attracted the interest of thousands of new users around the world to the crypto ecosystem.
Now, through Arbitrum Nova, the developers of Arbitrum want to boost the opportunities that the chain offers to the video game sector.
AnyTrust technology, based on Ethereum, inherits the security of the main network while ensuring high scalability, higher performance, and lower cost. However, in order to achieve this, it sacrifices decentralization.
AnyTrust was introduced earlier this year as a more centralized alternative for those looking to enjoy higher transaction throughput in exchange for a presumption of trust.
The developers explained that AnyTrust, instead of using optimistic rollups, makes use of a data availability committee, in which at least two of its members must be assumed to be honest.
When will Arbitrum Nova be available?
According to Offchain Labs' post, Arbitrum developers can now request access to Nova to deploy their applications on the new chain.
However, The launch of Arbitrum Nova to the public is not yet defined, although it is expected to occur within the next few weeks.
Offchain Labs reported that Developers will have at least two weeks to incorporate their projects and to adapt to the new network before the public launch.
Arbitrum is currently one of the most thriving and innovative second-layer ecosystems on Ethereum.
According to the DeFi Llama platform, which monitors the decentralized finance ecosystem, Arbitrum is the tenth largest DeFi ecosystem by deposited value, with a total liquidity of 635 million at the close of this edition.
