Nexus, a layer 3 solution designed to unify Ethereum liquidity

Nexus builds a unified business layer for L2

Nexus was introduced by its creators as an innovative solution to improve Ethereum's scalability and interoperability and unify liquidity within the L2 ecosystem.

For Nexus developers, Ethereum's Layer 2, which encompasses a series of solutions focused on scaling the blockchain network, continues to face one of the most persistent challenges in the crypto industry: liquidity fragmentation.

Vince Yang, one of the co-founders of zkLink, the infrastructure on which Nexus is based, pointed out that the gap between the different L2 ecosystems that exist in Ethereum has become an obstacle that prevents users from knowing and exploring the true potential of the cryptocurrency world.

As a solution to this challenge, zkLink developers have introduced a new blockchain platform, designed to unify liquidity across the entire Ethereum L2 ecosystem.

This platform, called Nexus, It is a third layer built on top of Ethereum's layer 2 rollups., such as Polygon zkEVM, zkSync and StarkNet.

Nexus aims to provide a unified commerce layer for L2 ecosystem protocols and applications, enabling higher levels of scalability, reducing gas fees, and making it easier for developers to deploy their protocols without much effort.

Nexus was designed to make it easy for decentralized applications to deploy and integrate into Ethereum’s L2 ecosystem, without having to deploy across multiple Layer 2 protocols.

For this reason, Yang highlighted that Nexus will become a fundamental solution for the crypto ecosystem, which will be invaluable for developers of DApps, decentralized exchanges, NFT marketplaces, and other solutions. The zkLink co-founder highlighted that this solution will help close the gap between different L2 ecosystems, while reducing liquidity fragmentation and providing a higher level of security, by making use of zero-knowledge (ZK) technology.

In addition to unifying liquidity on Ethereum’s second layer, Nexus also offers great benefits for application developers.

zkLink Nexus

“zkLink Nexus is designed to bridge the gap between different ZK-Rollup L2 ecosystems and reduce liquidity fragmentation.”

The zkLink team highlighted that their new blockchain platform allows DApp developers to connect their decentralized applications across the multiple zk-rollups deployed on Ethereum, while retaining the security features of the Ethereum network through the zk-SNARKs architecture. This means that through Nexus, developers can access a set of tools that facilitate the integration of their DApps with the unified liquidity of multiple L2 blockchains, and all this without having to navigate the complexities of each of the existing second-layer solutions and ecosystems on Ethereum.

Nexus Layer 3 tools also integrate innovative features that enable transaction composability, increase efficiency, and improve functionality, resulting in a smoother and more secure user experience.
