Microsoft partners with Axelar Network to accelerate Web3 adoption

The agreement reached between Microsoft and Axelar Network seeks to improve the integration of Web3 and traditional Internet systems.

Microsoft is among the tech giants that want to help businesses improve the adoption of new technologies such as blockchain and Web3, according to cross-chain protocol Axelar Network, which announced its recent partnership with the tech giant.

On Twitter, Axelar said it will work with Microsoft to accelerate the adoption of blockchain and Web3. Under the cross-chain protocol, new blockchain-based interoperability solutions will be created that will allow for improved integration of Web3 and traditional Internet systems, as well as improved connectivity between private and public blockchains.

As part of the agreement, Axelar has joined Microsoft’s Azure marketplace, becoming the first blockchain industry platform of its kind to offer integration and interoperability products and services to Microsoft customers through this cloud marketplace.

Connecting blockchain with AI

Furthermore, the partnership between the two companies will also allow them to explore the integration of Artificial Intelligence, such as OpenAI services, into Web3 applications. All of this in order to improve the accessibility of developers and companies to the blockchain and Web3 ecosystem, promoted as the third generation of the Internet that promises a new, more open, decentralized and secure structure.

“The partnership will explore ways public blockchains can help ensure trust and accelerate the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into mainstream use cases,” Axelar Network developers said on Twitter.

Opening new frontiers for Web3 adoption

In addition to its recent partnership with Axelar, Microsoft also joined the Web3-focused blockchain, Ankr, to offer its Azure customers easier access to the blockchain ecosystem.

The partnership was announced by Ankr developers in early June, highlighting that Microsoft’s enterprise customers could leverage its blockchain infrastructure to develop their own custom blockchains and power new Web3 strategies in a simple and secure way.

In mid-March, Microsoft also revealed plans to integrate a non-custodial Web3 wallet into its Edge web browser, which will allow users to manage cryptocurrencies and NFTs and connect with different decentralized applications (dApps) and Ethereum-based protocols.
