My First Bitcoin launches its open-source crypto education initiative

Mi Primer Bitcoin, an organization focused on educating about Bitcoin in El Salvador, has launched its “Diplomado en Bitcoin” program in a new format that is accessible to everyone.

Now, El Salvador’s pioneering Bitcoin education initiative has gone open source with the goal of reaching a broader user base around the world.

On social platform X, the organization stressed that the launch of its open-source “Bitcoin Diploma” program will allow knowledge about the leading cryptocurrency to expand and be available to the entire world, helping millions of people understand the advantages and potential of Bitcoin and its underlying technology, the blockchain.

My First Bitcoin was born in El Salvador, after a historic law was implemented in the country that made Bitcoin an official currency in the territory. Since then, the organization has expanded to several countries in the world, preserving its initial focus on making more people aware of the benefits of adopting and using cryptocurrency. The goal is to empower all people in the new decentralized financial system that cryptocurrencies build.

Inclusive, equitable and quality education

The initiative launched by My First Bitcoin seeks to provide basic and practical teachings and knowledge about the disruptive potential of Bitcoin in the financial system and in society. The cryptocurrency, the first successful one in the world, is laying the foundations for the construction of a new era in which decentralization, freedom, privacy and trust are fundamental principles.

For this reason, John Dennehy, CEO of My First Bitcoin, emphasized that promoting learning about the world's leading cryptocurrency is essential to training the new generation of thinkers, developers and tacticians who will build the finances of the future.

Using the open-source model, the organization’s “Bitcoin Diploma” program is now freely accessible to people around the world through GitHub repositories.

The new orange generation of El Salvador

Recently, Mi Primer Bitcoin celebrated the graduation of a new cohort of the Bitcoin Diploma in the town of San Bartolo. More than a hundred Salvadoran students graduated and received their diploma after several weeks of study and internship.

During the graduation ceremony, students demonstrated their theoretical knowledge about Bitcoin and put into practice what they learned during the educational program. According to the organization, evaluated students' abilities to use bitcoin, sending and receiving transactions with the cryptocurrency, backing up wallets, among other activities.

My First Bitcoin is one of several educational initiatives that were born in El Salvador with the aim of training the new orange generation. In addition to this educational program for young students in schools and high schools, the country promotes another training program called CUBO+, which is focused on educating a new generation of software developers, who contribute to the code of Bitcoin and the Layer2 Lightning Network.
