“Metaverse Standards Forum” is born, a space to promote the construction of the open Metaverse

Metaverse Standards Forum space to create open metaverse

The world's leading technology organizations are members of the Metaverse Standards Forum.

Meta, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Alibaba, Epic Games, the World Wide Web Consortium and other major technology companies and organizations from around the world have founded the Metaverse Standards Forum, a space dedicated to building a generalized, open and inclusive metaverse on a global scale.

The new forum will offer a free and accessible space where all the world's technology organizations can collaborate together to establish new interoperability standards that will allow the construction of an open and interoperable virtual world.

Through this forum, its founders want to encourage institutional cooperation for the development of new open standards for the Metaverse, in order to integrate various technologies and innovations into the new reality that is being built on the Internet and that promises to completely transform the way in which we communicate and interact with others.

In total, 36 companies and organizations, including the largest technology companies in the world, are part of this forum for innovation and interoperability standards for the virtual world.

Major technology companies have committed to promoting open interoperability in the Metaverse, so that new spaces can be built to simulate and live all kinds of shared experiences through 3D avatars.

The Metaverse Standards Forum is also joined by the world's leading standards companies and international standards foundations, such as the Enosema Foundation, Khronos Group and Spatial Web Foundation, which want to contribute to the development of this digital innovation.

For many, the Metaverse is the next phase in the evolution of the Internet. Therefore, it is only a matter of time before this technology expands and takes over everyone in the world.

According to BBVA estimates, in the coming years the Metaverse will be a common technology in the lives of millions of people. In the case of Spain, the country is listed as one of the main nations where people say know and be quite familiar with the Metaverse

Creating open standards for building the Metaverse

The main objective of the Metaverse Standards Forum is to build new international interoperability standards that define the standards and parameters needed by virtual world builders to build an inclusive and interoperable environment.

Although this forum will not directly create standards, its founding members and participating companies will be able to meet to discuss and coordinate the resources and conditions necessary to establish the new regulations.

Stefano Corazza, Vice President and Fellow of AR at Adobe, who is also part of the Metaverse Standards Forum, commented during the Presentation of the new forum of Metaverse standards that establishing norms and provisions for this innovation is essential to “foster collaboration and allow this new ecosystem to truly flourish”.

Likewise, 0xSenses Corporation, an organization dedicated to creating virtual worlds through a variety of emerging technologies such as Virtual Reality and Blockchain, indicated that the creation of open standards will help disrupt the Metaverse. “come true faster and better”

Asian giant Alibaba, also a founding member of the Metaverse Standards Forum, believes that standardization will be key to moving towards building new use cases and applications for the virtual world.

The Metaverse, the transition to a new reality

The metaverse will be key to living a new life based on virtual reality. Companies around the world, from the fashion, food and financial industries, are exploring ways in which they can use the disruptive potential of the Metaverse to transform their businesses and move towards the new virtuality.
