McDonald's, brand, history and NFTs

In the new digital age we live in, NFTs seem to be key to celebrating years of history of a globally recognized brand like McDonald's. According to the company, the collection is inspired by the renowned brand with the golden arches, its history and its new facilities in Shanghai.

"Big Mac Cube" is a creative, digital, dynamic and three-dimensional work inspired by the spirit of McDonald's and the shape of the new building, the company explained. On the other hand, Zhang Jiayin, CEO of McDonald's China, said that the company is a young and fashionable brand that is always aware of new market trends and cutting-edge technologies.

“I am very happy that McDonald's has become the first national catering brand to launch NFTs,” Jiayin said, noting that she is using NFTs to share McDonald's innovation, digitalization and trending art with her employees and consumers.

McDonald's NFTs will be available on the Confluux public blockchain. Those who receive the company's NFTs as gifts will be able to store their tokens on the Cocafe platform or withdraw them to a digital wallet of their choice.

NFT trend

Coca-Cola, the US-based beverage multinational, also made use of NFTs to get closer to its consumers. The multinational launched a collection of NFTs in July this year to celebrate International Friendship Day and its 50 years with its partner and friend Special Olympics International.

The mini-blogging social network Twitter also echoed the popularity of non-fungible tokens on the market. Twitter designed 7 different NFTs, themed around the social network, and gave away 140 copies to users of the platform, whom it called its “best friends.”

Other globally recognized brands from different industries, such as Taco Bell, Pringles, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton and Amnesia Ibiza, have also jumped on the NFT bandwagon.
