Matter Labs hands over management of the zkSync DApp ecosystem to DappRadar

Decentralized app store and tracker DappRadar will now manage the zkSync decentralized app ecosystem, Matter Labs announced.

The blockchain technology company that develops the zero-knowledge proof-based scalability solution zkSync has reported on the transition of the management of the application ecosystem that exists in this solution to the web tracker DappRadar.

Matter Labs explained that the measure seeks to increase community participation to advance the decentralization of zkSync and its entire ecosystem.

DappRadar will now manage the new zkSync Application Portal, where users can explore the wide range of decentralized applications (DApps) and live integrations existing in the zkSync Era ecosystem.

MatterLabs he presented zkSync was first introduced in June 2020 as a solution to increase Ethereum scalability and reduce network gas fees to nearly $0. Later in March this year, it introduced the alpha version of zkSync, Era, and in June, the modular framework ZK Stack, for building new blockchains called hyperchains, powered by zero-knowledge proofs.

According to the company, hyperchain infrastructure will provide full sovereignty to developers to build new applications that will help unlock the value of the Internet.

Ensuring decentralization and adoption of the zkSync ecosystem

DappRadar has become the first external portal offering access to zkSync’s DApp universe, developers at Matter Labs said.

Through this platform, which displays various statistics about DApps such as rankings and historical performance, users will be able to more easily access existing applications in this ecosystem while DApps on zkSync have a new opportunity to improve discoverability, the company said.

DappRadar is a platform that registers more than 750.000 visitors per month, which is an advantage for projects and applications to attract the attention of the broader crypto community.

Matter Labs said that relinquishing management of the zkSync ecosystem is a key step in transitioning ownership to the community, helping to ensure the principles of zero-knowledge (ZK) technology.

While DappRadar is the first external gateway to the zkSync ecosystem, Matter Labs is extending an invitation to the entire crypto community to create and deploy other new tools to explore and analyze the decentralized applications that exist on the network. In addition to this, the company reported that it has plans to completely decentralize zkSync’s technology and hand over governance to the crypto community.

More than 200 projects implemented in zkSync

Since the alpha version of zkSync was launched in March, the ecosystem has welcomed over 200 projects and applications that are built on the network with a focus on privacy and security.

According to Matter Labs, zkSync has launched everything from wallets, DeFi protocols, tokenization services and Web3 infrastructure, payment gateways, NFTs and games, to decentralized social applications. All while maintaining a focus on privacy.

As part of the transition, DappRadar analysts published an extensive article which encompasses zkSync’s technology, its competitors, and the current decentralized application landscape.
