Rune Christensen, founder of MakerDAO, has proposed the creation of two new tokens to reinforce the development of his decentralized protocol.
Christensen has put on the table the creation of two improved versions of the MakerDAO tokens DAI and MKR, as part of Endgame, a plan that seeks to add more decentralization to MakerDAO, in order to improve the efficiency, security and stability of the protocol.
As Christensen has described in his plan, currently DAI, the protocol's decentralized stablecoin, and MKR, the governance token, function as two established but separate brands in the crypto/blockchain industry. Christensen wants to bring the two together and form a cohesive new brand that represents MakerDAO's true purpose as a leading protocol in the decentralized ecosystem.
The founder of MakerDAO detailed that the original versions of DAI and MKR will be preserved in the protocol permanently, but that the new versions of these tokens will incorporate other properties and functions to improve the operation of governance processes and encourage innovation through inclusion of new technologies.
The new versions for DAI and MKR integrate Artificial Intelligence as part of the key technologies to optimize the Maker protocol.
Endgame, a plan to transform MakerDAO
Currently, MakerDAO occupies a prominent place in Decentralized Finance (DeFi).
Being one of the first protocols developed within this blockchain ecosystem, MakerDAO has become the favorite automated cryptocurrency lending platform for many, thanks to the DAI stablecoin, which is part of the essence of MakerDAO. However, as mentioned at the beginning, DAI has been formed as a separate brand from MakerDAO and its global community.
Christensen's plan with Endgame is to unify their products to make MakerDAO the largest and most used decentralized stablecoin protocol in the ecosystem within the next 3 years.
In his proposal, which goes through five stages, the founder of MakerDAO explained that the changes and improvements presented will ensure that the growth of the protocol is “anchored in an autonomous DAO economy, where its growth can continue to accelerate and safely reach any level.” of scale without jeopardizing the balance of resilient governance.”
SubDAOs, AI and a new blockchain for the DAO economy
But MakerDAO's transformation goes beyond creating new versions of its stablecoin and governance token.
Endgame includes the creation of six new SubDAOs that can be farmed by users to drive protocol innovation. Likewise, Christensen's transformation plan proposes the introduction of new technologies, such as AI, to optimize governance processes, strengthen security and ensure greater transparency in the protocol.
Endgame also proposes creating a more inclusive staking reward system that incentivizes everyone to participate in the protocol through yield farming rewards.
Finally, Endgame presents the creation and deployment of a new blockchain, based on Ethereum, that allows MakerDAO to implement a full range of features, functions and solutions optimized for the DAO economy.
