CoinMarketCap, the leading data aggregator for the cryptocurrency industry, has integrated token swaps into its platform with Uniswap, the most important DEX in the DeFi ecosystem. 

Uniswap, the decentralized exchange protocol (DEX) most important in the ecosystem of decentralized finance (DeFi), announced its integration into CoinMarketCap, the leading data aggregator for the cryptocurrencies, and digital assets. 

Via Twitter, Uniswap developers explained that thanks to the native integration of the DeFi protocol into the data aggregator, users will be able to easily connect their wallets Ethereum to make instant token exchanges or swaps. 

With the new “Token Swap” feature on CoinMarketCap, the platform offers a simple and intuitive mechanism to use that allows you to quickly and directly exchange different tokens and assets from the standard ERC-20 from Ethereum.

CoinMarketCap and its entry into DeFi

With the launch of Token Swap, CoinMarketCap opens the doors to decentralized DeFi exchanges and token and asset swaps. 

The data aggregator also published a release reporting that Uniswap is just the first in a list of DEXs that will be integrated with the platform, to offer swap services for a wider range of tokens and digital assets; although, at the moment, Uniswap is the only DEX that supports this new feature and only Ethereum ERC-20 tokens can be exchanged. 

Likewise, CoinMarketCap reported that users will be able to connect different wallets compatible with the Ethereum network to exchange their favorite tokens. Wallets currently supported are: Dappradar, WalletConnect, Coinbase Wallet, Fortmatic and Portis.

More than 270 million visits per month

The decentralized finance ecosystem has developed rapidly over the past year, attracting a significant number of investors and developers who want to create the most innovative products for the industry. 

As CoinMarketCap explained, the idea behind integrating an exchange function from its platform is that users, anywhere in the world, who enter the web portal to check the prices of cryptocurrencies and digital assets, can quickly exchange their tokens, if they so choose. 

Founded in 2013, CoinMarketCap is the world's most widely used data provider for the cryptocurrency industry, with over 270 million visits per month.
