pTokens announced the first JavaScript-based Blockstream Liquid Network universal library, called LiquidJS, through which platform developers will be able to easily and simply interact with the blockchain.

In this exclusive the blockchain interoperability project, pTokens, developed and announced the first JavaScript library for the web Liquid Network. It is a universal open source library that allows easy access to the Liquid network for platform developers and technicians to interact with the platform. blockchain in external applications without the need to configure a dedicated node.

Liquid's first universal library is available at GitHub, and as expressed Thomas Bertani, founder of pTokens during an interview, the new LiquidJS library is the equivalent of the library web3.js, a collection that allows you to interact with a local or remote node on the network Ethereum through HTTP, IPC o WebSocket.

During the interview Bertani pointed out that JavaScript libraries are used by thousands of projects to interact with blockchains, since it is one of the most popular and widely used programming languages in the industry, which is why it was decided to develop LiquidJS in this language.

Implementations of the new LiquidJS library

Among the use cases that LiquidJS allows is the possibility of easily interacting with a wallet, plus it can be used with decentralized applications (dApps) for financial tools, private transactions, swaps, and many other things, Bertani noted.

For its part, Neil Woodfine, Marketing Director of Blockstream, also highlighted that similar to the popularity that Bitcoinjs, the LiquidJS library will provide a great boost to accelerate the growth, development and adoption of applications based on the Liquid Network, since currently very few providers support and use this network in their services. Until now Blockstream Green It is the only wallet available to average Liquid users, but thanks to the capabilities that LiquidJS offers this scenario can positively improve.

On the other hand, LiquidJS also allows connection with other blockchain networks, making it possible for the developer team to bring cryptocurrencies and tokens from other blockchains to the Liquid network.

It should be remembered that Liquid Network is a sidechain or side chain Bitcoin centralized and made up of the so-called Liquid Federation, an association or consortium made up of a total of 44 blockchain technology companies and companies that are responsible for managing, monitoring and safeguarding transactions and other actions that take place within the network.

Still, the team of developers behind Liquid considers this network to be in many ways better than Bitcoin, as it has locktimes or time locks much faster than Bitcoin, as well as ensuring user privacy through confidential transactions and offering built-in support for creating custom tokens within the network.

Lastly, Liquid also provides several wrapped tokens for Ethereum and EOS, so the integration of BTC guarantees in the project is currently possible DeFi Equilibrium. But despite the network's potential qualities, many in the crypto community are afraid to use it due to the high level of centralization it has.
