Fashion brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Estée Lauder and Forever 21 will participate in the first edition of the Metaverse Fashion Week which will take place in the Decentraland metaverse.
New York, Milan, Paris and now Decentraland, fashion and haute couture come to the metaverse. Between March 24 and 27, the Metaverse Fashion Week (#MFW22), which will bring together some of the leading brands and designers, and where we will be able to enjoy fashion shows, immersive experiences, shopping and panel discussions.
More than 60 brands, such as Tommy Hilfiger and Dolce & Gabbana, will participate in the virtual event, and have been acquiring their space in the metaverse in recent months.
With the rise of NFTs and the growth of experiences and purchases in the metaverse, Metaverse Fashion Week seeks to offer a space for users to acquire new products for their avatars and, at the same time, expand their knowledge about the different cases of value of NFTs.
All Fashion Week events will take place in the Fashion District, a 6000-square-foot space purchased in November by fashion company Metaverse Group, dedicated to purchase and sale of land in the metaverse.
What can we do at Metaverse Fashion Week 2022?
During #MFW22, users will have access to several community-created spaces within the district. In each of them, designers and brands will host catwalks, expert panels and art galleries.
Rarible Street
One of the areas that we will find within the fashion district of Decentraland is the Rarible Fresh Drip Zone, inspired by the streets of New York, with a very urban look. In this area we can find some stores such as Placebo Digital Fashion House or PUMA.
Here it will be possible to participate in some airdrops such as Atari Hotels or Crypto Couture's Miss J Collection.
Luxury Fashion District
The Luxury Fashion District is the space where major fashion brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Elie Saab, Etro, Imitation of Christ, Nicholas Kirkwood, DUNDAS and White Rabbit are concentrated.
Here we will also find some designers, such as Franck Muller, Chufy or Jacob&Co, who will showcase their products created especially for the metaverse.
CashLabs
Web3 agency CashLabs will host its mixed media art gallery here. Here, 20 artists and designers including Antoni Tudisco, Krista Kim x The Fabricant, Karl Lagerfeld x The Dematerialized or Auroboros will showcase their work, in a exhibition called “at the intersection of Art and Fashion”.
On the three floors of the gallery we will find images, videos and sculptures, all of them related to the world of art.
In addition, SHOWstudio & Nick Knight will host a film festival on the rooftop terrace of the building, where five films a day will be shown for four days with a fashion theme.
The Parcel-MetaParty Community Precinct
In this area, attendees of the virtual event will be able to enjoy talks, fashion shows, live music and DJs.
Shops, expert panels and parties
Taking advantage of the event, some of the main fashion brands such as Forever 21, Estée Lauder or Philipp Plein They will open their stores in the Decentraland metaverse, where users can find exclusive collections of accessories for their avatars.
Metaverse Fashion Week 2022 will also feature panels of experts in the fields of fashion, NFTs, Web3, and the metaverse.
Of course, Decentraland Fashion Week will feature plenty of parties, featuring performances by the likes of Bob Sinclar, Nicki Nicole, DJ ICYKOF, and Blond:ish.
Finally, users will have the chance to meet Sophia, the humanoid robot created with Artificial Intelligence, who will try to avoid the paparazzi who keep harassing her.
