Bitcoin, an efficient and secure means of payment
In general, the current situation around the world is driving many companies to adopt digital payment methods that allow maintaining and respecting security measures against the current pandemic, while reducing physical contact between people and having to receive cash. Due to this, the delivery services giant added several digital payment methods, including Bitcoin, a cryptocurrency considered by many to be a viable, effective, efficient and secure means of payment.
For Just Eat France, using Bitcoin as a payment method is a way to democratize and promote the use of cryptocurrencies on a massive scale among the general public, and even more so now that the French food delivery giant has been acquired by the Dutch company Takeaway, which has been accepting payments with this cryptocurrency since 2017.
It is important to remember that Just Eat is a British multinational online food ordering and distribution company based in 13 countries in Europe, Asia and America, so it is a company that handles billions of users around the world.
With this initiative, Just Eat France aims to simplify digital ordering and payments at over 15.000 restaurants in the country that are affiliated with the company's delivery services. Lastly, Just Eat France states that if a user cancels an order for any reason, they will receive a refund on the amount paid for the service, and that the refund will be transferred to a bank account in euros of the user instead of receiving BTC.
