Technology giant IBM is developing a series of partnerships and webinars to boost the adoption and development of disruptive technologies such as blockchain in different industries.

IBM Cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Week, IBM CLOUD & AI WEEK, brought together leading figures from the technology and business sector for the development and innovation of different industries. The online event took place from September 8 to 11 and was mainly focused on raising awareness of the importance of technology blockchain, the Artificial Intelligence (AI), the services in the Cloud and Big Data for personal and business development.

“In times of change, personal and business evolution has become a necessity. New technology, the right content and the right guidance can make all the difference.”

During the event, different topics of the technology industry were developed, all of them focused on guiding participants to understand the essence of new technologies and the fundamental role they already play in our era. Blockchain, AI, the Cloud and Big Data all have great potential with transformative capabilities, capabilities that today are beginning to be widely demanded in our society. Likewise, the event focused on guiding different companies to understand the importance of new technologies for the development and business growth of their own industries and for the protection of their data. The applications and use cases of these developing technologies seem to be limited only by our imagination.

Modernizing and reimagining the future

Topics like Cloud Trends: Why the key is in the cloud, How to build your business strategy in the Cloud, Application modernization, Accelerate your Digital Transformation, Discover the value of your data, AI and automation, Cybersecurity trends in the Latin American market, and many others were some of the most prominent and important topics discussed during the webinars of the IBM CLOUD & AI WEEK

Likewise, there was extensive discussion about the cloud computing, information technology and cybersecurity services offered by IBM Cloud for different companies and enterprises. The technology giant is no longer just dedicated to the manufacture of hardware and computing equipment, but has immersed itself deeply in technological development and innovation as a means to drive the modernization, digitalization and security of different companies and industries.

Currently, IBM has forged strategic alliances with different governments and companies to strengthen cybersecurity systems, boost the agricultural supply chain, digitize the oil and gas industry, and much more through new technologies such as blockchain. In Colombia, for example, the company's subsidiary is implementing a academic for the professional training of students and graduates in careers in the IT and technology sector. The alliance is being developed with the Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies of the country, and plans to train more than 62 thousand students in new disruptive technologies, such as blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, Cloud services and Big Data.

In relation to the agricultural supply chain, IBM develops a new blockchain-based system, together with the company's geospatial platform S4, which will allow the identification and recognition of agricultural products, as well as the use of data related to this industry.

Technological development and cybersecurity

Today's technological development demands a high level of security and protection. No industry can aspire to automate its processes or digitalize its government without a security system that guarantees the efficient protection of its data and information. Because of this, the webinars developed by IBM placed special emphasis on providing effective solutions to the security attacks to which we are exposed in the new digital era, where the number of hacks and cyber attacks on different platforms and companies is increasing.

In fact, the company will hold a second week full of webinars, called IBM Cybersecurity Week, which will take place online from September 21 to 25 of this year. During this second week, IBM aims to provide the essential advice and guidance so that companies from different sectors can have guaranteed security services that respond effectively to any incident.
