GFAL's objective is to develop an ecosystem of solutions so that Web3 video games have AAA quality.
Trip Hawkins, one of Apple's first employees and founder of Electronic Arts (EA), developer studio of the successful football video game franchise, FIFA, has announced its signing for GFAL.
Hawkins joins the Spanish company as co-founder and head of strategy.
With the incorporation of the founder of EA, GFAL brings together one of the largest pools of expertise in the video game sector.
Among the members of GFAl are former workers of King (candy Crush Saga), Activision (Call of Duty) and Blizzard (Diablo and World of Warcraft), some of the largest video game companies.
This addition shows that, despite the ups and downs of the Web3 games sector, it continues attracting talent and seeking technological innovation.
Blockchain: potential to change the video game sector forever
Trip Hawkins has been a strong advocate of blockchain and Web3. In the past, he noted that Web3 is the bridge to the metaverses, which will be the future of video games and social interaction.
Hawkins' goal is create a new economy in the metaverse that is as similar as possible to that of the real world.
However, Hawkins Concerns about the security of Web3 wallets, since they are more vulnerable to hacking, so developers will have to focus, first of all, on this point.
GFAL: changing Web3 video games
GFAL wants change the world of video games and drive adoption of Web3 and blockchain gaming.
Blockchain video game company GFAL has identified one of the main problems with Web3 games: They don't have the same quality and playability as AAA games.
Triple A or AAA is the name of the great video games of the industry like FIFA, God of War or any major production. In short, they are games that stand out for their graphic capabilities, innovative game dynamics or their stories.
GFAL noticed that Web3 games often have very simple game dynamics (very similar to type games casual like the famous Candy Crush and mobile games), low quality graphics or childish looking and a simple narrative or non-existent that rarely attracts the player.
At the same time, GFAL identified a pproblem in traditional games: shopping.
Titles like Fortnite o Call of Duty They invite the player to spend real money on cosmetic items or game improvements. But the players they can rarely recover their investment and, in most cases, they are penalized if they go to secondary markets.
The idea of GFAL is to create a complete platform (with a blockchain, a token and a series of tools) that allows Web3 game studios develop AAA quality titles and offer an economy in game, with P2E dynamics, which allows players to earn money for their time.
