Fox launches content verification program on Polygon PoS

The media and entertainment industry continues to embrace blockchain technology to streamline content management and delivery.

Fox Corporation has announced a strategic partnership with Polygon Labs to launch the open version of its new content and image verification protocol, based on the Polygon PoS chain.

The new protocol, called Power Verify, will help companies register content and grant usage rights to Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms, and will help consumers easily verify the origin of content through innovative tools that guarantee transparency and security.

Through this new open verification protocol, Fox seeks to address one of the biggest challenges in the media and entertainment industry, proving the provenance and authenticity of a given content in a reliable manner.

The company noted that its partnership with Polygon has made it possible to build a modern and novel digital infrastructure that is capable of transparently proving authenticity.

Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon, emphasized the scalability of Polygon PoS, along with the transparency and immutability of the blockchain in general, as essential elements to create powerful tools that help consumers and users identify when something was generated by Artificial Intelligence and when it comes from a real-world media company.

An open protocol for verifying content

La public beta version Power Verify's open source version is now available. It was publicly launched on January 9, allowing publishers and businesses to register content to prove origin. In a releasePolygon Labs highlighted that Fox's new open content verification protocol can be used by consumers to identify content from trusted sources.

Power Verify was introduced in August of last year. However, it was only now that the code was released as open source or open source software. This will allow users and the community to contribute to its development, improvement and optimization, he said.

“Now, the protocol has been open sourced, allowing the public to contribute and fork the source code”, Polygon Labs said.

Power Verify is built on the Polygon PoS blockchain, a highly scalable blockchain that facilitates fast, easy, and quite affordable transactions for everyone.

Polygon, a bridge to Web3

Polygon Network has been serving as a bridge for Connecting traditional businesses to Web3, the next generation of the Internet, based on cryptocurrencies, blockchain and other emerging technologies.

It's not just the Fox media network that has entered the world of blockchain and Web3 through Polygon. Other global companies and corporations have also done so, such as The Disney Company, Starbucks, Associated Press, Mercedes-Benz, Dolce & Gabbana, JPMorgan and several other companies from different industries.
