It looks like we'll soon be able to drive a Ford car in the Metaverse and experience a fascinating new virtual experience.

Ford Motor Company Registers 19 of Its Car Brands for the Metaverse

Ford has not only been improving the technology of its cars, but has also been taking important steps to enter the virtual world and Web3. 

The American car company has filed several applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the agency responsible for issuing patents and registering trademarks for the identification of products and properties, to secure a place in the Metaverse; a technological innovation that has ceased to be a promise of the future to become a reality in the present.

According to USPTO-licensed trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis, Ford Motor Company has filed a total of 19 trademark applications before the agency. 

In these applications, the American car company revealed its interest in offering its products and services within the virtual world. 

Registration applications indicate that Ford could Create virtual cars, trucks and vans, plus Car accessories, auto parts and virtual spare parts. Ford could also launch clothing items as NFT tokens and Open new branches and online retail stores to offer their services within the Metaverse. 

Creating digital collectibles is also among Ford's plans for the virtual world and Web3, according to trademark applications submitted to the USPTO earlier this month. 

From family cars to sports cars, luxury cars, commercial cars and off-road vehicles

Some of the most popular models of cars, trucks and vans from the manufacturer Ford, such as Bronco, F-150, Explorer, Maverik and Raptor, they will surely be in the Metaverse very soon. 

Kondoudis' co-trademark application also shows other models from the American company, such as the luxury model Lincoln, the powerful Ford Ranger, produced together with Mazda and even the commercial model Ford Transit. Ford's sports models, such as the Mustang and the Expedition and the electric van Ford Lightning are also listed among the company's plans for the virtual world. 

Over 4.000 trademark applications for the Metaverse this year

American brands and companies from almost every sector have made big moves to follow the global Metaverse trend and offer their users and customers new innovative products and services within the virtual world. 

According to Kondoudis, from January to August, Some 4.150 trademark registration applications have been submitted before the US Patent Office, in order to create different virtual services and products related to NFTs, the metaverse and Web3.  

This number of applications has already exceeded by 120% the number of trademark applications submitted in the whole of 2021, which was 1.866 in total, Kondoudis said. It remains to be seen how many new trademark applications are submitted to the US agency in the remaining months of this year. 

Recently, the American retailer International Jockey and the American music company Sony Music Entertainment They also filed applications for registration with the USPTO this week to move into NFTs, the virtual world, and Web3.
