The first airport in the metaverse comes to Polygon

The first airport in the metaverse arrives at Polygon

Polygon will be the blockchain chosen to build the world's first airport in the metaverse.

Despite the difficult market situation, MATIC has had a excellent performance in recent weeks. This is because Polygon is being the blockchain of choice for a number of developments in the metaverse

In this sense, Polygon will be the network chosen to host the First airport in the metaverse: the BLR Airport.

This is an important milestone as BLR Airport will be the first airport in the metaverse, highlighting a new use case focused on commercial purposess. Airports could use their virtual versions to offer deals to users, as well as a space where users can familiarise themselves with the airport facilities before visiting.

In this way, airports in the metaverse could boost customer engagement.

Polygon, Amazon Web Services and Intel have participated in the development of this virtual airport. According to the tweet in which they announced the creation of the airport, users are expected to use the metaverse to socialize, shop and enjoy entertainment shows.

How did Polygon react?

As we have explained, this will be the first airport created in the metaverse. It could be an excellent step for Polygon and other blockchains that are entering the metaverse. Most importantly, this project highlights the potential of Polygon to lead the development of metaverses.

Despite the delicate moment that the crypto market has been experiencing in recent months, Polygon has maintained a steady growth in adoption. In this sense, in the last five months, Polygon has obtained 43 million new addresses of unique wallets.

The growth in adoption of the Polygon network is largely due to it being the network of choice for large companies like Meta, which will implement functionalities NFTs on Instagram using Polygon's layer 2 network.

Also the social platform Reddit has chosen Polygon to implement a marketplace and new NFT functionality for user images.
