📍‌ The recent achievement of Ethereum (ETH) surpassing its 2018 all-time high, has raised high expectations in the crypto community, which say the cryptocurrency could reach a price of $10.000 and $10.500 USD throughout this year and the next. The prediction was made by Fundstrat Global Advisors strategist, David Grider, who said that ETH is this cryptocurrency “is the best risk/reward investment play in crypto.” 

Ethereum is the second-largest cryptocurrency on the market, but the expert noted that despite this, ETH multiplied its price by more than five times last year, which in terms of performance, turned out to be better than Bitcoin.

📍 ‌Stellar users are falling victim to a scam where one or more scammers published a Stellar website with a domain false to deceive users of this cryptocurrency, promoting a supposed “Stellar Community Staking competition”The crypto community is warning that this competition is a scam in which users' data and private information may be involved.  

The website imitates the Stellar portal, which is why several users have fallen victim to the scam, stating that the protocol has implemented a new betting algorithm based on the Stellar Ledger.

📍 ‌Another darknet market closes its doors to cryptocurrency transactions Bitcoin. A few days ago, this media reported that White House Market closed operations with Bitcoin, announcing that it will only accept payments in Monero, a privacy-focused cryptocurrency. But now the dark market Joker's Stash, which also operated with bitcoin, has just announced its final closure, after 6 years of operation.

📍‌ The International Monetary Fund (IMF) launched a public consultation on its Twitter account, to find out the community's opinion about the CBDC, central bank digital currencies. The entity asked directly if CBDCs are really money, to which the community responded with 35,5% saying “Yes”, and some argued that these digital currencies are opening the doors to the transition to “exclusively digital” money. 

The IMF also noted that CBDCs can indeed be a form of money, but that it was not sure whether they were actually currencies. It also noted that many of the world's central banks are not authorized to issue and distribute these currencies without first changing their internal legislation. 

📍‌ Justin Roiland, one of the creators of the famous television series Rick & Morty, auctioned off a collection of digital artworks, based on non-fungible tokens (NFT) on blockchain, on January 19 through the Nifty Gateaway marketplace. The different artworks, presented in different collections on the digital marketplace, opened with prices between $333 and $999 USD. However, one of them was auctioned for a total value of $150.000 USD, while other pieces, at the time of this publication, are still at auction but reach a value of $180.000 USD. 

Roiland, the creator of digital artworks he pointed on his Twitter account that this was the best thing he could have done. Part of the money generated from this auction will be donated to homeless people in Los Angeles, the artist assured.
