The Ipsos survey seeks to answer open questions about the future of new innovations.
Currently, companies from different industries, such as art, fashion, sports, social media, music, food, among others, are injecting millions of dollars into the development of virtual worlds, where people will be able to carry out an endless number of activities, from interacting with others anywhere in the world, to shopping, attending work meetings, processing documents, medical consultations and much more. All of this virtually and without leaving their homes.
Due to this enormous potential, a large part of the Spanish population sees the Metaverse as an innovation that will positively impact their daily lives.

Gaming, virtual meetings, virtual work environments, and socializing are also among the most important use cases for the virtual world.
The Metaverse in emerging countries
Contrary to what one might think, developed countries are the least interested in the development of new technologies and how they will impact daily life. In contrast, in emerging countries, populations expect that the applications and potential use cases of technologies such as the Metaverse and Extended Reality will transform their daily lives in the next 10 years.
The World Economic Forum, a non-profit organization that annually brings together world leaders to discuss current changes and trends, indicated that young adults with a high level of education are those who are most anticipating this technology.

China, India, Peru and South Africa
Other countries familiar with the Metaverse, which stand out worldwide for the number of people who say they know about this innovation, are China, India, Peru and South Africa.
According to the survey, 78% of the Chinese population is familiar with the Metaverse and Extended Reality. In India and South Africa, 75% and 62% of their population, respectively, also claim to be aware of these technological innovations.
In the case of Peru, where Bitcoin adoption has grown exponentially, 74% of the population knows about the Metaverse and feels optimistic about participating in this development.
Furthermore, although the study shows that a large part of the world's population is very interested in the Metaverse, as an innovative technology to drive change, there are current barriers that companies and developers must overcome to achieve mass adoption of this technological innovation.
Ipsos recommends that companies address all aspects of the use and implementation of the Metaverse, to ensure responsible adoption. Meanwhile, Cathy Li, from the World Economic Forum, said that a regulatory framework appropriate will allow us to explore the economic and disruptive potential of the Metaverse in a fair and equitable way for all.
