A study indicates that 5 of the 10 most influential companies in the fintech sector in 2022 are dedicated to crypto.
Crypto technology has revolutionized the digital finance space and financial technology in general. Since the emergence of Bitcoin in 2009, Blockchain technology has brought about a paradigm shift, thanks to the creationn of real-time transactions, safer, cheaper and more transparent.
A new study, called Influential Fintechs 2022, demonstrates the huge impact that the crypto industry has had, especially over the last year, on tech finance. In the study, Five of the Top Ten Fintech Companies of 2022 are crypto firms.
Influential Fintechs 2022 has analyzed the 50 companies of the list Forbes Fintech 2022. The research took into account various factors such as:
- Total funding obtained.
- Last known valuation.
- Number of followers on Twitter.
- Number of global searches according to Google.
Based on these factors, each company has been assigned a normalized score out of 10 for each factor, and an average of four scores has been used to determine your position in the final classification.
What are the most influential crypto companies of 2022?
Second place on the list is occupied by OpenSea, the number one NFT marketplace in the world by transaction volume, with a score of 8,61 according to the Finbold study.
Much further down, in seventh place, is the exchange FTX, with a score of 7,86. Behind, in eighth position, we find Chainalysis, followed fireblocks and, in tenth position Circle, the company responsible for the USDC stablecoin, which has a score of 7,36.
The first place on the list is occupied by a digital fintech, Chime, focused on offering commission-free banking servicesPositions three to six are also occupied by traditional companies, such as Stripe or Carta.
Below the tenth position, we can find crypto companies such as Paxos, which is ranked 13th, Alchemy o AvaLabs, which remains in 30th place.
What will the fintech industry look like in the future?
The fintech sector is expected to continue to grow at a good pace over the next few years. For example, the study points out that fintech will have a worth $171.000 billion in 2022 and are expected to grow to 228.000 billion by 2024.
On the other hand, it is surprising that some companies such as Robinhood, Kraken or Klarna and Wise, which were at the top last year, are have fallen from the Forbes 50 Fintech list.
