El Salvador will train 80.000 public officials on Bitcoin innovation

El Salvador continues to set the pace in the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency space with its ambitious new plan to educate 80.000 public officials on this disruptive innovation.

El Salvador's Bitcoin Office, an entity created to coordinate and foster the development of Bitcoin-related projects in the nation, reported that a plan will soon be launched to educate thousands of public officials about the innovation of the market-leading cryptocurrency.

This initiative, promoted by the Higher School of Innovation in Public Administration (ESIAP), seeks not only to strengthen governance, but also to enhance El Salvador’s position and leadership as a pioneering nation in the adoption of innovative financial technologies.

As the world watches, the Central American country is preparing to implement an educational model that could transform its public administration and potentially boost its economy and development.

El Salvador takes another step forward in Bitcoin innovation

ESIAP, established in 2021 under the leadership of Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, has as its fundamental objective to raise the standards of public administration in the country. In this context, the Bitcoin module that will be implemented for public officials is a key component of its academic offering.

The National Bitcoin Office explained that this module in the ESIAP educational plan will not only address the technical aspects of Bitcoin, but will also focus on the understanding its impact on the economy and societyStacy Herbert, director of the National Bitcoin Office, stressed that educating public officials about Bitcoin is crucial to further driving the nation's technological, economic and social growth and development.

Herbert too he highlighted that as more officials become educated and understand the innovation that Bitcoin encompasses through this program, it will create a “compound effect” that will benefit the entire country.

The inclusion of Bitcoin in the ESIAP curriculum is a significant step towards the modernization of public administration. Officials will receive training on topics such as Cybersecurity, Blockchain and Cryptocurrency-Related LawsThis will not only provide them with the tools necessary to more efficiently manage public resources, but will also allow them to take a more proactive approach in implementing policies related to cryptocurrencies and digital assets.

In addition to the topics mentioned above, Artificial Intelligence is also included in one of the modules of the educational program that ESIAP is preparing for public officials in El Salvador.

A role model for the world

The cryptocurrency industry has enthusiastically welcomed El Salvador's new plans to further boost Bitcoin and cryptocurrency innovation.

The country’s approach to cryptocurrency education can serve as a model for other countries looking to integrate blockchain technology into their government systems. The training of these 80.000 public officials is an unprecedented effort that demonstrates the willingness of the nation and its government to be a pioneer in an area that many consider the future of finance and economics.

“El Salvador is showing the world what real leaders and officials are like!”, said a user on X.

According to experts, investing in Bitcoin education is a long-term commitment that could translate into increased trust in the country’s financial system. As officials become more familiar with cryptocurrencies and how they work, more informed and effective policies are likely to be developed. This approach could not only improve government efficiency but also attract foreign investment and foster the development of new Bitcoin-related capital markets.

Bukele promotes excellence as a driver of change

Herbert stressed that the creation of an educational plan on Bitcoin focused on public officials is part of Bukele's plan to "build excellence in governance in El Salvador."

By adopting Bitcoin as legal tender in 2021, the country has positioned itself as a pioneer in the adoption of cryptocurrencies worldwide. However, simply adopting cryptocurrency is not enough, so education represents a critical step to ensure that both citizens and public officials fully understand the implications and opportunities that this technology presents.

In addition to the educational plan designed by ESIAP, El Salvador has launched other educational plans focused on Bitcoin and emerging technologies, such as CUBE+ y Node Nation. The initiative My First Bitcoin, which was born in El Salvador, has also been bringing the disruptive innovation of the leading cryptocurrency to every corner of the country.
