Former TikTok executive aims to create a new protocol so that Web3 game developers can freely choose the blockchains they use.

The executive seeks to offer a solution to the segregated nature of infrastructure options blockchain available for blockchain game developers.

Jason Fung, former head of gaming at TikTok, has created a new company focused on developing a blockchain infrastructure that aims to connecting different metaverses among them, which will be called Meta0.

Meta0 is working to enable game and metaverse developers to connect more easily to different blockchains through a white label application programming interface (API) and a series of software development kit-based solutions.

Jason Fung believes that when a developer implements NFTs or blockchains into their games, is forced to choose a single blockchain, whether Solana, BNB Chain or Polygon.

Meta0 aims to create a interoperable solution, which allows developers to work with different blockchains without having to choose just one.

“We have built a protocol for game developers, and we take a flexible and blockchain-agnostic approach to game development. With the protocol we are creating, developers can more easily build their game by taking advantage of the benefits of different blockchains, and allow the user the flexibility to transfer their NFTs across chains,” Fung said.

Traditional companies and crypto companies

“I left TikTok because I saw a clear opportunity to offer a solution to the current segregated nature of infrastructure options available to developers looking to build games on blockchain,” Jason Fung explained, while noting that this is a problem that developers have to solve.

Fung understands that this is a difficult time to launch a project of this nature, as the market is in a difficult situation. However, the executive is sure that he has the infrastructure and the right team to face this type of undertaking.

The executive explains that “the recent market downturn creates an opportunity to focus on construction.” He considers himself a builder and says he is not distracted by market prices or volatility issues.

On the other hand, the blockchain gaming sector is attracting attention. traditional companies. Tencent, Samsung or Microsoft have already started developing their own Web3 gaming projects. At the same time, Web3 companies such as Immutable or Catheon Gaming are hiring ex-managers from traditional companies such as Facebook or Activision Blizzard.
