The Salvation Army USA is partnering with leading cryptocurrency donation management company Engiven to accept Bitcoin and Ethereum as donations.
The rise and popularity of the cryptocurrencies, and digital assets are making these assets reach every corner, and more so now, with the new bullish trend that marks Bitcoin (BTC), as the leading asset in digital markets.
The pandemic situation of 2020, and the measures taken by central banks and governments around the world to counteract the economic effects, printing large amounts of money that exceed any reality, is driving investors and common users to take refuge in cryptocurrencies as assets with great potential for storing value and protecting against information. Today, recognized investors, skeptical of Bitcoin, have begun to recognize the potential of this cryptocurrency, even above gold. Likewise, large companies and financial services companies, life insurance, software and business intelligence, have chosen to move a large part of their cash reserves to Bitcoin, as a show of faith, confidence and security in the disruptive, transformative and revaluation power that this cryptocurrency has.
Given this scenario, where the adoption of cryptocurrencies and digital assets is an imminent fact, now the charitable foundation The Salvation Army USA is also choosing to start accepting donations in cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC) y Ethereum (ETH).

Engiven and The Salvation Army
Engiven, a leading company in cryptocurrency and digital asset donation management, published a release informing the community that The Salvation Army Western Territory has selected the Engiven platform to begin accepting donations in BTC and ETH.
Engiven CEO, James Lawrence, noted that cryptocurrencies have the potential to foster the transformative change the world needs right now, which is why they are proud to provide the technology needed for The Salvation Army to drive better management and administration of the donations they receive, fueling local projects and initiatives around the world. Furthermore, Douglas Riley, leader of the organization's Western Territory in the United States, said that The Salvation Army is entering a new generation of fundraising and management tools, thanks to its alliance with the company Engiven.
“We believe that the value and widespread use of Bitcoin has created a wonderful donation opportunity to meet the high level of need.”
Riley refers to the difficult situation experienced worldwide due to the pandemic, which, despite the efforts of charities to raise funds and donations, cannot cover the exorbitant costs and requests for help in some countries that have been severely affected by the pandemic.
Both organizations hope that, with this new alliance, they will be able to serve up to 155% more people this holiday season than in previous dates, given the ease that Engiven's platform offers to manage donations, in addition to the level of trust it guarantees to donors.
Business management of donations with cryptocurrencies
In its statement, Engiven says that it is a leader in cryptocurrency donation management services for nonprofits and donors, and that it has an optimal digital platform that allows these organizations and donors to accept and settle donations in cryptocurrencies and digital assets in a safe and reliable manner. The platform promises to eliminate the complexity of making donations, as well as eliminate the risk associated with crypto asset transactions.
Another of the world organizations that accepts funds in cryptocurrencies is the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), which since October 2019 has integrated digital assets into its fundraising program, becoming the first United Nations organization to accept, conduct and maintain cryptocurrency transactions.
