The Shibarium beta launch is “fast approaching,” the developer of the upcoming Shiba Inu layer-2 network has confirmed.
In a status update, Unification blockchain developers, part of the team building Shibarium, confirmed that the launch of Shiba Inu’s new second-layer network will happen soon.
Although there is still no set date for the release of Shibarium, Unification noted that The development work on this new blockchain network is progressing well..
The blockchain developer team noted that although the Shibarium public beta has not yet been implemented, “That day is fast approaching".
The launch of Shibarium is one of the most anticipated events by the Shiba Inu community, SHIBArmy and the crypto community in general.
Shibarium is a second layer blockchain being developed to increase the scalability and performance of Shiba Inu, to enable near-instant transactions at very low cost and to unlock new use cases and applications for this growing blockchain ecosystem.
Shibarium Development Update
One of the priorities of Shibarium developers has been the security and stability of the new network. “Given the scope, it is foolish to rush,” commented Unification on the launch of the new layer 2 blockchain.
In her last status update, Unification highlighted that the Shibarium development team has been working primarily on implementing the onchain oracle application Oracle of Oracles (OoO) on the new network. OoO will allow Shibarium-based smart contracts to access data outside the blockchain to ensure secure and reliable price feeds, minimizing the risks of price manipulation and, therefore, potential hacks.
Unification assured that testing with OoO has been successful so far and that the blockchain oracle protocol has been implemented on Shibarium's private alpha network.
In the meantime, Unification developers are urging the SHIBArmy community to be patient as the new blockchain network launches.
As reported by this outlet, the Shibarium beta could arrive in the middle of this month, according to a status post made by Shytoshi Kusama, Shiba Inu's development lead, on his Twitter account, in which he hinted that the arrival of the second-layer network could be in a heart-shaped box.
The SHIBArmy community interpreted Shytoshi's message as a sign that the Shibarium launch could happen on February 14th.
