On September 3 and 4, the Autonomous Community of Aragon will hold a webinar to study the current state of blockchain technology and future prospects for continuing to develop this technology.
The government of the Autonomous Community of Aragon is one of the pioneers in innovating with technology blockchain in Spain. Whether in the legal, technological or financial fields, the Autonomous Community of Aragon is committed to ensuring a higher level of transparency and reliability in all its processes. For this reason, on September 3 and 4, the Community will hold a webinar to discuss the current and future panorama of blockchain technology within this territorial entity.
During the digital event, several round tables will be held to discuss topics of interest, such as the current development and progress of Distributed Registry of Public Procurement Offers, which will be led by María Saldaña and Ricardo Albasini, representatives of the Public Procurement Office of the Government of Aragon. Likewise, issues related to the Use of this technology in sectors linked to the tourism industry, as well as in private sectors related to logistics, among others.
On the other hand, knowing the perspectives and future development of blockchain technology within the Autonomous Community of Aragon is also a topic of great interest. Thus, to cover these topics, there will be present Esther Borao, General Director of the Technological Institute ITAINNOVA; Beatriz Royo, from the Research Institute Zaragoza Logistics Center (ZLC); Miguel Angel Barea, from the technology firm Inycom; Sergio Loras, from the Oesia Group; Antonio Maroto, from the IT service provider DXC Technology y Jorge Bescos, Representative of Nova3Interactive. Similarly, Carlos Millan will present the Blockchain & IOT Lab developed by ITAINNOVA, while Daniel Labeaga y Antonio Lorente They will be the ones to make known the activities developed and to be developed by the associations Blockchain Aragon y Blockchain Zaragoza.

Current development of blockchain in the Autonomous Community of Aragon
The Government of Aragon is implementing a platform based on this technology, which aims to allow the bidding of contracts and public works in a transparent, reliable and secure way, while allowing the reduction of the costs associated with this process and the execution time of each one. To date, there are 25 contracts made through this blockchain system, 25 solid, transparent and reliable contracting processes.
The implementation of blockchain technology within public procurement processes was considered by the World Economic Forum as one of the most important initiatives of the Government of Aragon to fight against the corruption that exists within these contracting processes. It should be remembered that this innovative system eliminates the figure of trusted third parties to choose the companies or contractors that will carry out the works, but is based on smart contracts who are responsible for evaluating and assigning projects and works to the most suitable companies.
