Millennials and cryptocurrency investment in the United States

📍‌According to Bank of America, millennials are increasingly less confident in stocks and prefer cryptocurrencies. The investment bank released a private banking study to determine the impact of generational attitudes toward finances among the U.S. population. 

The results, according to the report published by the bank, indicate that the cohort of young investors in the country considers cryptocurrencies as their No. 1 option when it comes to alternative investment assets. The bank specified that, in the United States, age is an important factor in the interest in cryptocurrencies and digital assets. 

El 29% of young people surveyed see cryptocurrencies as an opportunity to grow their investments, while only 7% of adults surveyed considered this as a possibility. 

Based on its results, the bank determined that young American investors, who belong to the Millennial generation, are 7,5 times more likely to invest in cryptocurrencies in the future. 

NTT Docomo in the Metaverse

📍‌Japan's largest telecom company, NTT Docomo has created a unit to delve deeper into the metaverse. In a Press releaseThe Japanese company explained that the new unit, called NTT Qonoq, will be responsible for exploring the potential of the metaverse and discovering new ways in which the telecommunications company can integrate this innovative technology into the products it offers its customers, to improve the user experience and provide new ones. 

NTT Docomo, which has more than 80 million registered users in Japan, plans to create its own virtual world where users can enjoy unique communication, as well as offering a stage where artists can participate in virtual events and live performances. 

In the statement, the company said it is allocating a fairly large budget to promote its new product offerings based on the virtual world and extended reality. 

New season for NBA Top Shot

📍‌The NBA's NFT moments platform unveiled a new roadmap for the 2022-23 season on Monday. On its Twitter account, NBA Top Shot, the platform where video moments of the most famous NBA plays are sold in NFT format, informed its more than 287.000 users on the social network that the new roadmap for the 2022-2023 gaming season will be revealed this Monday. 

NBA Top Shot is an NFT marketplace platform built on Dapper Labs' Flow blockchain. To date, the platform has generated a trading volume of over $970 million and 20,1 million in sales with their NFT moments. 

China wants to fight against the hegemony of the dollar

📍‌A group of Chinese government researchers wants to create a new CBDC to reduce the hegemony of the US dollar in Asia. The news was reported by Hong Kong newspaper South China Morning Post, according to Bitcoin.com, which noted that researchers at the Institute of World Economics and Politics at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences believe that an Asian CBDC would help protect the region's monetary sovereignty and reduce its dependence on the dollar. 

According to the report, the CBDC would be linked to the fiat currencies of the countries that make up the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). It is worth noting that China already has its own CBDC, called e-CNY or digital yuan. Likewise, Hong Kong is preparing to launch the first pilot tests of its digital currency e-HDK. 

Other ASEAN countries, such as Japan, Singapore and Malaysia, are already developing or have plans to create their own central bank digital currencies, or CBDCs.
