South Korea holds conference to attract young Metaverse enthusiasts

The South Korean city of Pohang is the meeting point for the International Youth Metaverse Conference, where highly relevant topics on emerging technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence and the virtual world are being discussed.

Young people are the special guests at the International Youth Metaverse Conference, which is being held at the POSCO International Hall in Pohang City, North Gyeongsang Province.

This two-day conference, which started yesterday, November 21, is focused on the Metaverse, to discuss how this technological innovation can transform our future.

This is an innovative event that is bringing together young people, both national and foreign, who are interested in new technologies. This conference is also attended by business leaders and corporate officials from different sectors in South Korea and the rest of the world, who want to share their vision, experiences and perspectives on the Metaverse and how this virtual universe is changing the way we interact, work and learn.

Youth, the main protagonist at the International Metaverse Conference

For many, the Metaverse is not yet a reality, but rather a virtual universe that is under construction and that brings together the main technologies that exist today. In this virtual universe in occlusion, young people have a key role. This is the approach maintained by the organizers of the International Youth Metaverse Conference, who, by organizing this event, seek to encourage debate and the generation of ideas to shape the Metaverse.

Kim Sang-gyun, a professor at Kyung Hee University who gave the opening speech at the conference, I speak of the Metaverse as a virtual world created by superhumans, where blockchain and other revolutionary technologies will converge. According to Kim Sang-gyun, technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, genetic manipulation and nanotechnology are driving a phenomenon known as “Big Blur”, which blurs the boundaries between technologies and different industries. This will help shape the virtual world and mold the new future of humanity.

Other presentations, such as those by BoxMagic CEO Daniel Ávila Arias and Professor Lee Han-jin from Handong University, discuss communication with machines in this new digital era and the culture and art of education in the Metaverse.

According to Professor Lee Han-jin, today's youth are actively participating in the design and creation of the Metaverse and the conference in question provides a unique opportunity to broaden this participation through practical workshops and networking sessions.

The International Youth Metaverse Conference is also addressing issues related to the ethical and social challenges of creating a virtual universe, especially with regard to privacy, security and inclusion.

Finally, Deloitte Anjin Director Lim Jung-hun focused on the unique opportunity that the conference is offering to young people and other participants to learn about the potential of the Metaverse to improve their lives, the impact of developing immersive experiences, and the need for business implementation of the virtual world in order to take advantage of the commercial opportunities of this technological innovation and generate new profitable business models.
