Chromia confirms mainnet launch for 2024

Chromia developers have shared the blockchain’s roadmap for the coming year, confirming that the mainnet launch is planned for 2024.

Chromia, a relational blockchain focused on providing real-world solutions, is preparing for the launch of its mainnet next year.

According to the developers, in the updated roadmap As shared this week, the Chromia mainnet will be the result of years of research, development, and testing, and will offer an innovative solution to the current challenges of the blockchain industry. Specifically, the development of this blockchain seeks to provide effective solutions to common problems in the crypto ecosystem, such as network congestion, high transaction fees, low interoperability, and lack of governance, among others.

Chromia is a decentralized blockchain platform that allows developers to build scalable and secure applications. However, it is currently available in a public test version.

Chromia Mainnet 1.0: A roadmap that marks the path towards the mainnet and the evolution of its ecosystem

The launch of the Chromia mainnet will be a major event that will attract a large portion of the blockchain industry's developer and user community.

This is what the Chromia development team envisions, with the vision of creating a more open, inclusive and collaborative blockchain ecosystem, allowing anyone the ability to build and use decentralized applications (DApps) to cover a wide range of needs and to improve people's lives.

To achieve this goal, the launch of the Chromia mainnet is crucial.

However, with its new roadmap, Chromia is aiming beyond its mainnet launch.

The network developers stressed that the “Chromia Mainnet 1.0” roadmap also marks the beginning of a long journey in which they are heading to the evolution of this blockchain ecosystem, which is home to a wide number of decentralized applications targeting different needs and use cases, ranging from gaming applications, to DeFi applications, digital property, carbon credit market and more.

As part of the roadmap for 2024, Chromia developers highlighted the Start of testing of the mainnet candidate network, as well as the creation of a new fee system, the interconnection of Ethereum-based CHR and BNB Chain tokens and ERC-20 tokens of EVM-compatible chains with the new Chromia network, and the launch of a digital wallet that functions as a web browser extension.

The Rell programming language

Chromia's mainnet, the roadmap explains, will be based on Rell, a relational programming language that simplifies the development of blockchain applications and allows for greater expressiveness, flexibility and efficiency.

Rell is specifically designed for developing decentralized applications on the ChromaWay Know-how platform. This programming language combines the advantages of SQL, such as the ease of expressing queries and constraints, with the characteristics of distributed systems, such as immutability, cryptographic verification and concurrency, allowing developers to create innovative and scalable solutions for various sectors, from identity management to traceability, asset registration and smart contracts.

These features of the Rell programming language will be implemented by Chromia on its main network, in order to Improve application performance and security that develop in it.

In addition to this, Chromia will introduce a democratic and participatory governance model, where users will be able to vote on important decisions that affect the network, such as future upgrades.

The evolution of Chromia

The Chromia network has evolved significantly from its initial conception to the present day. Despite being in a public test version, the developers of this network have been adding a series of innovative features and functionalities, ranging from modular Layer 1 and Layer 2 solutions, to interoperability with the Ethereum chain and other Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible networks, consolidating Chromia as an autonomous network within the crypto space.

This blockchain has also been expanding further as the team has focused on delivering quality user experiences such as Web3 gaming, offering robust tokenomics for players.

Chromia has also made significant progress in developing its ecosystem, as reflected in the creation of “Shared Appnet,” a platform focused on decentralized applications.

On top of all this, Chromia introduced an education center for DApp developers this year, called Chromia Learn, and recently integrated DappRadar as a validator for the public testnet. The blockchain data and analytics platform said it will continue to be blockchain validator when the mainnet launches next year.
