DApp developers on the Polygon zkEVM ecosystem will be able to leverage Chainlink data feeds to expand their projects’ applications and use cases.
The integration of Chainlink into Polygon zkEVM will enable decentralized application developers to build and unlock a wealth of fully secure and advanced DeFi applications, which promise to empower the decentralized finance ecosystem on blockchain.
Through this integration, Polygon aims to provide DApp developers with a secure and trusted development environment where they can leverage the features and potential of the Polygon network, along with the robustness and innovation of Chainlink data oracles, to build ultra-fast, scalable, and resilient DeFi applications.
Johann Eid, Chief Commercial Officer at Chainlink Labs, said he is excited to see what application developers will build, leveraging Polygon's scalability along with the security of Chainlink's data oracles. Meanwhile, Marc Borion, CEO of Polygon Labs, highlighted that the integration of Chainlink's data feeds into the Polygon zkEVM ecosystem will boost the development of DeFi towards a new frontier.
Ultra-fast and resilient DApps
Chainlink is one of the most innovative projects in the decentralized finance or DeFi ecosystem. This project offers a decentralized oracle network that enables access to real-world data on the blockchain and vice versa, connecting both worlds quickly, efficiently, and transparently.
Chainlink’s innovation also extends to blockchain interoperability, enabling the connection between multiple blockchains, which has led the project to play a key role in the development of the DeFi and Web3 ecosystem.
Now, Polygon zkEVM wants to leverage all the advantages of the Chainlink oracle network to enhance and elevate the overall value of its digital ecosystem.
“We are thrilled to support Polygon zkEVM with secure and reliable price data that enables developers to start building ultra-fast DeFi applications that take full advantage of the speed and scalability of Polygon zkEVM.”, Eid declared.
Through the integration of Chainlink, developers on Polygon zkEVM will be able to leverage external price data to build and launch ultra-fast and resilient DApps, ranging from highly effective liquidity protocols, to advanced decentralized exchange applications and much more. According to Polygon’s CEO, developers will also be able to build the new applications leveraging the unique value propositions of a ZK rollup like Polygon zkEVM, including fast finalization and robust security.
Several major DeFi protocols and applications built using Chainlink are expected to be deployed on Polygon zkEVM early next year, Borion noted.
Chainlink expands in the blockchain industry
In addition to its recent integration with the Polygon zkEVM ecosystem, Chainlink has also been expanding significantly in the blockchain industry, partnering with other major projects such as Base and, most recently, zkSync Era.
To date, Chainlink has also integrated with other projects in the blockchain industry, such as institutional-grade digital custody solution Cobo Global and distributed social network Revolution Populi. Chainlink has also integrated with telecom network Vodafone, seeking to drive the transformation of global trade with blockchain technology.
