Girona, located in Catalonia, is the city chosen by the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce to install the new Blockchain Center called CBCat, which is destined to become a global reference and the heart of blockchain technology.
The potential of technology blockchain Blockchain is captivating everyone, not only developers and programmers, but also society in general. The initiative being promoted by the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of the city, to install a Blockchain Center in the country, demonstrates this.
With this initiative, which will be located specifically in the premises of the Science and Technology Park of the University of Girona (UdG)The organization seeks to attract and encourage the participation of hundreds of blockchain companies from around the world, and to turn the Autonomous Community of Catalonia into a leading blockchain technology and innovation center at a global level.
The new Blockchain Centre, and the city of Girona, will host all those actors, individual or collective, private or institutional, who are potentially involved with the development and technological innovation and blockchain. In addition, as the organization indicates in its web portal, through this centre, society will be promoted and educated about the potential of this developing technology, and about all the application cases and real use cases that currently exist, and which encourage the construction of a highly innovative system. In this way, Girona will become the international digital reference player to attract thousands of students from around the world, and provide training in blockchain and the digital industry.

A technology with potential for the future
Despite being studied and developed for 12 years, blockchain is a technology with enormous potential yet to be discovered. More blockchain hubs for the community
The Department of Digital Policies and Public Administration of the Generalitat, whose main advisor, is also participating in the development of the Blockchain Center of Catalonia. jordi puigneró, indicated that the organization's future plans are to extend new blockchain centers throughout the autonomous community, which will allow Catalonia to become a true global technological reference center.
As we can see, the vision of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and the Department of Policies of the Generalitat is to position Catalonia as an attractive location for the development of international blockchain projects, as well as for the training of professional and specialized talent capable of playing an important role within the different companies and industries.
Puigneró, who also participated in the presentation of the new blockchain centre, indicated that the organisations will present two future projects related to blockchain development and innovation. The first, a Blockchain faculty that will be located within the Technological Park of the University of Girona, and the second, the Blockchain Experience, which will be a space dedicated to the development of visual experiences with this technology.
